Talk:Mechanique de Arcane (5e Subclass)

I don't feel the archetype is overpowered at all, just specific in what it does and that it employs magical means of accomplishing some things.

But what I can't decide is if the Disable Device bonus (or any other, for that matter) is too much at higher levels. Thoughts?

After doing the first writeup, I realized that the Sorcerer spell list might not be the best source list for spells later on due to the limited options of different schools of magic (specifically Necromancy) so I added access to other spell lists and gave guidelines for it.

Any input on balance is appreciated.

Student could do with being a more standardized 5th edition skill bonus. I'm struggling to understand the other features, I think they should be rewritten to make better use of 5th edition keywords and terms. Tick Tock I think is some kind of "speak with device", so looking at 5e SRD:Speak with Plants might help.I don't know what it means to "alter the purpose of a less complex item".
Programmer. I don't know what it means to, say, give a geas to a magic wand. What is a "save vs. INT", is that an Intelligence saving throw? What's the DC? You can't cast greater restoration on an object. At the end it says " Casting range is Touch, Verbal and Somatic components, takes 1 minute to cast. " - is Programmer supposed to be a spell? How does that work?
Analyst. Objects do not have a "CON"
Ghost in the Shell. Does this require an action? What is a "non-living, not undead creature"? How do I substitute my Str, Con and Dex with an object, as objects do not have these abilities? What is the "temporary hit point pool"? What happens to my equipment? What happens if I possess and control a magic object that is attuned to someone else? Can I cast spells or talk while I'm possessing an object? What is the DC of the Wisdom saving throw? This feature raises so many questions. Marasmusine (talk) 08:50, 23 April 2019 (MDT)
