Talk:Limb Growth (5e Spell)

Balance

Suffering a level of exhaustion doesn't balance this at all. Look at this from the perspective of a party of level 20 adventurers who have a few days of downtime. The wizard casts limb growth and gains a level of exhaustion. The cleric then casts greater restoration on the wizard and he is no longer exhausted. A 20th level cleric can cast greater restoration more times than the wizard can cast limb growth (6), so the party then takes a long rest until the next day where they can start over. Even without the use of greater restoration, it would only take 13 days to give every possible perk to a single character. --PJammaz (talk) 20:46, 8 March 2020 (MDT)

Pretty much this, yeah. It's difficult to balance any spell to give a permanent buff. The only one I can think of that arguably can, wish, has a massive material component cost and potentially other drawbacks. - Guy 21:08, 8 March 2020 (MDT)
gollark: I mean, those bored programmers can just use a general purpose language.
gollark: ++fortune
gollark: It's an inconsistently pedantic joke.
gollark: About 30 of them, at last count?
gollark: That is a really niche usecase for a language.
