Talk:Ironbound (3.5e Prestige Class)

SRD??

This is not SRD, this is homebrew, right? --Green Dragon 10:52, 17 May 2007 (MDT)

I don't recognize this. I've moved it off the SRD. I hope that it's a homebrew. If it isn't a home brew, we need a citation for the license. --Dmilewski 06:03, 19 May 2007 (MDT)
I have it in "Hammer and Helm: A Guidebook to Dwarves" published by Green Ronin Publishing as part of the races of renown series. Serberus 12:43, 24 May 2007 (MDT)
Okay... First off, is this licensed under the OGL or is it copyrighted? An easy way to figure out if something is licensed under the OGL is by checking the inside front of the book (on the page with the copyright information). If it reads, "None of the content in this book is Open Game Content" then none of content in the book is licensed under the OGL and therefore cannot be on this site. --Green Dragon 18:38, 19 May 2007 (MDT)
The OGL info as copied from the book "Hammer and Helm: A Guidebook to Dwarves" published by Green Ronin Publishing

This is definitely part of the SRD. I am not sure how it, or other materials that are SRD but not distributed from WOTC's website should be handled. Dmilewski? Blue Dragon (talk) 21:39, 19 May 2007 (MDT)
Thanks for the quote tags I spent 10-20 mins trying to find a blockquote tag :P Serberus 12:43, 24 May 2007 (MDT)
That citation is not clear enough. (Excuse me). All items published, OGL or not, need to have the above copyright notices. What we need is a clear statement saying what content in that book is Open Game License. The section will very clearly state what is what. I have no Green Ronin books, so I can't check their stock licensing page. As the item itself is from a Green Ronin publication, it is not SRD. For the moment, we'll go on good faith and assume that it is OGL. --Dmilewski 05:02, 20 May 2007 (MDT)
Ok so what is the exact wording that we are looking for because I have read the OGL 1.0 on here and almost word for word it is the same as the version in "Hammer and Helm: A Guidebook to Dwarves", Whopsie i found it
All text in this product is designated as Open Gaming Content.
Serberus 12:43, 24 May 2007 (MDT)
Okay, this class is OGL, however it is not part of the SRD. This class will be treated a normal class in DnD Classes just it will be licensed under the OGL with the correct categories and templates. So, first off, the wording of Template:OGL Bottom needs to be changed to say this is from Green Ronin books, or whatever, and then a dplc and the correct categories needs to be added/changed so this class is accessible to all. --Green Dragon 10:49, 20 May 2007 (MDT)
Ok i will take care of that but what do you mean by dplc? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.219.137.212 (talk • contribs) 11:10, 20 May 2007 (MDT). Please sign your posts.
I finished the categories moved from SRD to user classes, I also changed the Template:OGL Bottom to say Green Ronin Publishing. Serberus 12:43, 24 May 2007 (MDT)
Cool. We're back on track. The magic words are "...designated Open Game Content". Thanks for posting. Keep adding OGL content!!! --Dmilewski 20:34, 20 May 2007 (MDT)
Wait, instead of adding this to "Homebrew" (as it is not Homebrew) should a "OGC from Publishings" area be made (like in Racial Paragon classes)? I mean, do you guys really think that "Homebrew Classes" is the place for this? --Green Dragon 23:47, 22 May 2007 (MDT)
Probably that was my original reason for putting it under SRD. Serberus 12:43, 24 May 2007 (MDT)
Nevermind. The standard Homebrew section should work for now as currently there are a lot of OGC classes in that area. Sorry for any confusion, however keep adding the OGC content! --Green Dragon 22:46, 28 May 2007 (MDT)

That's odd

I know this is copyright by Green Ronin, but I havea problem with the class skills. How in sam hill is a character who pretty much lives in his armor (even able to sleep in the stuff) gonna have swim as a class skill. I coudl see Handle Animal and Ride, what with mounted knights and all. But swim jsut doesn't fit all too well. --Theophenes 23:28, 7 July 2007 (MDT)

There are magic armors that allow you to swim or at least breathe water in them. For a high level character, sinking into the ocean does not necessarily mean drowning. --Mkill 00:16, 8 July 2007 (MDT)

Locked :(

I understand that this is locked as it is published content, however it still has a wikify tag (seems mostly done to me), and a few typos - recives->receives, penatly->penalty, recieve->receive, buck lers->bucklers, as well as removing the SRD: from the hyperlink text - GaaaaaH 04:58, 12 July 2009 (MDT)

Yeah it's 2019 now, and still the situation remains. Coaldstone (talk) 21:59, 11 March 2019 (MDT)
gollark: Ours is shorter but lunch break is shorter too.
gollark: Yes, one from mine too, that's why I mentioned it. Perhaps we secretly all go to the same school and never realized it.
gollark: Ye§.
gollark: Oh no, a video.
gollark: Unfortunately they would also be really quite onerous to actually do, and nobody seems to have thought that optional part-time remote learning would be good.
