Talk:Glove of Infinity (3.5e Equipment)

I think that the price for the glove should vary depending on any enchantments the arrows would have. Such as a magical bow granting it's abilities to it's ammunition. So the price of the glove should somewhat be relative to enchantments and/or powers the arrow posseses as Would be giving the enchantment to the bow.

==Price==

You can't be serious, 150,000? Maybe for a glove that had +5 arrows bound into it, or slaying arrows, but for just a normal glove I was thinking something around 6,200. I got this number by taking the "Glove of storing" base price of 2,200, and the "returning" enchantment weapon price (+1 bonus, 2,000 for 50 arrows or a weapon) and doubling it as the magic item value rules in the DMG because it effectively has unlimited uses. So my table would be, Normal arrows: 6,200 +1 arrows: 10,000 +2 arrows: 18,000 +3 arrows: 22,000 +4 arrows: 36,000 +5 arrows: 60,000

I think the price should be set by the type of arrow you can "attach" to it, and then scale it accordingly. However, I think the prices suggested above me are too low. Imagine a Ranger with manyshot at BAB +16 taking a full round action to fire as many shots as he could. That's 12 arrows per round at level 16, and 16 arrows at level 20+. I would suggest (2200+Bonus cost)x1.5. That way a glove of normal arrows would cost 6300gp, a +1 glove would cost 15300gp, and so on. Anything +1 or higher may "attach" a sleep arrow, and +5 can "attach" a slaying arrow, or may spend spend a day's use to draw a single greater slaying arrow (by which I mean you can not draw any arrows from that pair of gloves after you draw your greater slaying arrow, that is keyed to the same type as the slaying arrow). Just my two cents. --Badger

That sounds better than what I listed above, however your formula would have to be (2,200+(bonus cost+1))x1.5 because of the returning bonus attached to the original price. +0: 6,300, +1: 15,300, +2: 30,300, +3: 51,300, +4: 75,300, +5: 111,300. Those prices coupled with the conversion to different arrows sounds good but I would limit the sleep arrows to 3/day, and slaying arrows 1/day. Caek 23:10, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
Sleep arrows, while a very cool concept, really aren't that buff. It's only a DC 11 will save to resist sleep, and by the time you can afford the gloves (level 6 or so), that'll be met by most opponents at least 75% of the time. I don't see the need to limit them to 3/day, simply because the gloves' price prohibits lower level players from abusing sleep arrows. Maybe something like 10/day would be more reasonable. They're the sort of item you buy a few of for a specific purpose, and then never use again. --Badger 23:53, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
The gauntlet of infinite blades is 6,500gp and can be found in the Magical Item Compendium. It does pretty much the exact thing, except that it can also expend charges to create increasingly powerful magical daggers. As a swift mental action, the gauntlet can be commanded to produce a single mundane dagger which persists for 3 rounds after it is created. It also has five charges which replenish daily; expending one charge will produce a +3 dagger rather than a mundane one, expending three creates a +3 seeking dagger, and expending all five produces a +3 bane dagger of seeking; you can even pick the bane target you want at the instant you create the dagger. I've always considered this gauntlet to be a fantastic piece of assassin gear (particularly if you improve it to also grant the almighty Dexterity bonus as well) - supplying a +5 blade that can be thrown to deliver a poisoned death attack, then vanishes mere seconds later, leaving no evidence to be tracked. I'd consider this item to be in the same sort of line. In fact, it would be even more useful for the Tome Assassin which is practically written to be a sniper class. Atypicaloracle

The same concept is used with a magic quiver called "Cornicopia Quiver" which allows the user to always have a basic arrow in their quiver. The quiver costs 2,500 gp so its the same replication enchantment for the glove its just a different body slot.

Alright so I was doing some thinking if you wanted this glove to do what you want this is what I was looking at the fact is magic items emulate spells for the most part and the reflection of those spells gives you the price. So honestly this is what I came up with feel free to let me know if this is not what you were looking for but its what I could do based off your discription of what you want the item to do:

Bracer of the Unyeilding Archer, Lesser:

Price: Varries
Body Slot: Hand or Arm
Caster Level: 10th
Aura: Strong Conjeration
Activation: Free action
Weight: .5 lbs.
This finely made Achers arm-guard is inscribed with runes indicating the arrow type attuned to it.

When created this glove is attuned to a spesific arrow. The glove may then produce the arrow as a free action as a bow is drawn. Arrows attuned in this way may not be arrows produced by a spell and the lesser version limits arrow attuned to a maximum of +2 bonus. The glove may produce 50 arrows in this manner a day. Arrows can not be produce unless the wearer is drawing back a bow they are proficent with. Regardless if the arrow hits arrow disappear at the end of the wearer's turn. This Bracer has no effect on crossbows. Despite its name the "Bracer" may take up the hand or the arm slot of the wearer.

This is the best I can approch this item. Remember ever angle has to be accounted for so if its producing an arrow and enchanting it to make a duplicate of the original arrow that is 2 effects. Major creation can create arrows of any wood or metal so no worries there the greater magic weapon is the best you can get for enchantments. I desined it with 50 arrows a day but gave you the caculations to scale it to more arrows but of course that cost more. Remember this item is basicly by passing the creation prosses of a magical item, your paying for the instent creation. Not that I think magical arrows are worth it. But hope this helps. Let me know if this is not what you were looking for.
This is actually VERY good. Thank you! Rogue The Demonchild 01:04, 16 August 2011 (MDT)
