Talk:Gasbender (5e Class)

I would like help with the new class I am creating. It is supposed to be someone who controls gas in a certain way, but this is my first time making a class on here. Could I get some help please? Sylvari Mesmer (talk) 11:14, 28 August 2020 (MDT)

Subclasses

I think I will be able to contribute more once you have come up with subclasses. Might I recommend 'gas alchemy' and 'gas physics'? Arquebus (talk) 11:44, 28 August 2020 (MDT)

I do not know how to use subclasses Sylvari Mesmer (talk) 12:41, 28 August 2020 (MDT)

To add subclasses, create a '===' level header named Subclasses or named with some label appropriate to gasbender, then below that, add two or more '====' level headers, each with the name of a subclass. Then add a few features for each subclasss that members of the other subclasses won't have.
As an example, the Arcane Assassin class has a subclass section named 'Blade Arcana', and below that their are two subclasses named 'Blood Arcana' and 'Poison Arcana'.

My 2 Cents

The best advice I can give is: 1. Figure out what kind of class you want this to be (i.e. are you spending spell slots, a point system like ki, or nothing like a fighter). 2. Don't focus too hard on combat. It's easy to tunnel-vision on combat features, but try to have at least a handful of features that help outside of combat. 3. It's okay to take inspiration from other classes. I'd suggest Air Bender (5e Class), Air Bender, Variant (5e Class), or maybe Naruto: Shinobi (5e Class).

Hope this helps, Sylv. --Ref3rence (talk) 12:59, 30 August 2020 (MDT)
