Talk:Elf Orc (5e Race)

well if u analyze this Race with others, the +2+2 in the Ability Score is a little hight, could be a +2Str/+1dex or a +2dex/+1 Str.

the trance thing... well that's nearly impossible. The elf travels to the reings of Corellon Larethian with his essence and rest... and the mere idea of something orcish getting near his realm... well... he took Gruumsh eye. imagine what he would do with a half-orc.

so for the Forgotten Realms games... its unthinkeble. But its a good idea in scenarios where old orc vs elf war doesn't exist.

and the calm fury, its a GM choice. if a player know how to use Diplomacy in a Intimidation moment, its up to the GM allow it not the player. a good substituion would be the Place where the ElfOrc lived. If he lived with elves so he got Diplomacy and with the orcs Intimidation. but cross the skills its too good.

Just a tad too good... just a tad

It seems that the elf orc race is more of a collection of the best parts of the merging races without any particular drawbacks.

the +2 in str AND dex is considered quite high. Most races give a max of 3 points of improvement spread among the abilities.

I have a few tweaks i would like to make that would hopefully make a satisfactory balancing agent for this race.

I have used this race build many times. I love the whole idea of it. But i too often find myself being at an advantage over my fellow players.

The rest of the stuff im pretty much fine with. Ive played in several games with different DM's and they have been pretty accepting of the Elf Orc i have written up.

Ive also added the Height and Weight randomizer that's a cross between the Elves and the Half-Orcs.

gollark: Meanwhile, AMD has perfectly functional in-kernel open source drivers.
gollark: They use them to do artificial market segmentation (limited transcoding and stuff on consumer cards), so they can't really open-source them without (*the horror*) being more consumer-friendly.
gollark: No sense buying a more expensive product which performs the same, and Nvidia's Linux driver support is *evil*.
gollark: Though people will inevitably buy Nvidia anyway because who knows.
gollark: As long as they can make something which is better perf/$, I don't see the problem.
