Talk:Eldritch Savant (5e Feat)

I'm not clear why already knowing an Eldritch invocation should mean you get more than someone who doesn't.

1) its potentially problematic for someone who learns additional invocations later (e.g. a multiclasser with 2 warlock levels and four of something else). Do they get an extra one at that point, or are they worse off than if they'd taken the same features in a different order?

2) someone with more invocations already likely has more invocations that use spell slots (if not now, then eventually, because he's probably more invested in warlock). He therefore gets more out of the spell slot feature, so why give him more out of the extra invocation feature too?

I would leave it at one extra invocation either way (plus the extra slot). It's a pretty good feet even at that. User:Anony9587

Alright, Eldritch Savant I really like. I've played warlocks before and I just feel restricted by my spell slots. This feat created early 2018 by Dark Dragon really helps open that up. Until this writing the feat restricted the spell slot to only invocations which didn't make a lot of sense. Now, it just gives a spell slot and an invocation. In the scheme of things, the warlock is still limited to five spell slots at 20th level. Part of me does think the intent was for this to be an Eldritch Blast cantrip booster because of the title but as it is I think works well. Cool Idea DD, cheers!   ~BigShotFancyMan   talk   07:50, 2 October 2019 (MDT)

gollark: They don't need to be on the same frequency or anything, you could just have a device with multiple transceivers.
gollark: You also pay them for lots of abstract things you can't really see, such as "law enforcement".
gollark: You would still need an antenna which receive do the frequency you want well, though.
gollark: RTL-SDRs are cheap and do something like 20-1700MHz.
gollark: According to the interweb it can do a few tens of Mbps.
