Talk:Drakyn (5e Race)

Musicus Meter
Score: 6.5-7.5
This race has a score of 6.5-7.5 according to the Musicus Meter race guidelines. With this metric, first-party races' scores range from 4.5 to 8. This is a guideline, not a rule, and it's important to use your own judgment alongside this scoring.
This scoring may be the groundwork for a focused {{needsbalance}} usage. A contributor to this page may request a detailed breakdown of this page's balance. Without this information, {{needsbalance}} may then be removed. This meter cannot be the sole basis for a needsbalance template, but may be included as an accessory to a wider discussion of a race's balance.
This template should only be placed on a race's talk page. If this template is not placed on the talk page, please move it.

Replacing Image

I'd like to replace the third image on this page with this image. Thoughts?--GamerAim (talk) 16:24, 15 February 2018 (MST)

As I said before. I disagree. It doesn't follow the theme. It doesn't match the race. It doesn't communicate or fill the place the current image does. As I have already said to you GA if you would like me to change it to something more appropriate then just say the words. --ConcealedLight (talk) 16:29, 15 February 2018 (MST)
I support either doing so or removing the third image altogether (Varkarrus (talk) 16:30, 15 February 2018 (MST))

Drakyn (5e Race) update

I think you should update the Drakyn race so it will show weapon, tool, and armor proficiency. And it should also show what skill, wepon, and language proficiency players can pick.

I have no idea what you are trying to say or the benefit of doing so. ConcealedLight (talk) 18:15, 20 October 2018 (MDT)
I mean that you should update this race to show what proficiencies this race has.
This race only has a few skill proficiencies. What would it need to be updated too? ConcealedLight (talk) 05:25, 13 November 2018 (MST)
There are no weapon proficiencies. They are really important to battles. Also if I locked my race page that I am creating will I be able to edit it if I think it needs to get upgraded?
You get your weapon proficiencies from your class. The few races that do get weapon proficiencies get them in addition to the weapon proficiencies granted by the character's class. Geodude (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 22:43, 13 November 2018 (MST)
I use orcpub2 and when I am adding a race to the character builder, it requires me to have at least 1 proficiency and 1 double proficiency. And there should be a bit more detail

how to lock my race page

im not sure how to lock my race, i was wondering if you can help me.

You should use an external image as the image you uploaded is most likely copyrighted. In regards to locking the page you've put together, it is full of issues and will need a copyright disclaimer as it's based off an anime. As the page hasn't been the subject of vandalism I don't see why it should be locked either. ConcealedLight (talk) 04:47, 27 October 2018 (MDT)

Can I use things that you have made?

I was wondering if I can use the breath weapons for the race that I am making? (To ConcealedLight)

Short answer: Yes.
Also please sign your name with four '~' at the end of your comments. Thanks. ConcealedLight (talk) 01:30, 28 November 2018 (MST)

Okay, thanks! Gekocaretaker1 (talk) 06:47, 28 November 2018 (MST) Gekocaretaker1

Also if I lock the page that I am making can I unlock it later if I want to make some changes? Gekocaretaker1 (talk) 17:00, 28 November 2018 (MST) Gekocaretaker1

As you are not an administrator you cannot lock a page. I'm assuming you're attempting to do so by the {{Locked Page}} template. Which is only meant to be used by administrators anyways and doesn't actually do anything. ConcealedLight (talk) 07:17, 29 November 2018 (MST)

I haven't tried yet but I am worried that when I post it someone will ruin it. Aslo why is there no yellow dragon anymore; I was looking at older versions and saw a yellow dragon subrace? Gekocaretaker1 (talk) 19:42, 29 November 2018 (MST) Gekocaretaker1

The subraces are based off dragon types at actually exist rather then made up ones. Yellow can also largely be considered Gold so there is no point double dipping. ConcealedLight (talk) 02:48, 30 November 2018 (MST)

Yellow dragons are real dragons, they are in the dracomicon handbook by WotC. If you need proof just ask and I can send a photo of the page. Gekocaretaker1 (talk) 18:10, 30 November 2018 (MST) Gekocaretaker1

This is content for 5th edition dnd. Not previous editions and 5th edition doesn't include yellow dragons as seen in the Monster Manual and and PHB dragonborn. ConcealedLight (talk) 05:04, 1 December 2018 (MST)

Then why have it in the first place? Gekocaretaker1 (talk) 17:46, 3 December 2018 (MST) Gekocaretaker1

Can you check the race I made to see if it is good? https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Drewkeen_(5e_Race) Gekocaretaker1 (talk) 06:31, 5 December 2018 (MST) Gekocaretaker1

gollark: I disagree.
gollark: Python is far more elegant in that way.
gollark: I disagree. It can take lots of internal complexity to present a nice simple interface to users, or a simple thing can be harder to use because you have to do more yourself.
gollark: Since it stops when it encounters the first thing with the maximum sum, I think?
gollark: Based on skimming it, your code already does that.
