Syllable of Detachment (5e Syllable)

Syllable of Detachment

Magic Type Truename Syllable
Speak Whenever you are able to speak
Range 60 feet
Duration Equal to your Charisma bonus

When a Truenamer begins a career as a Bereft, you learn the first syllable in the word of unmaking: the syllable of detachment. To speak syllables, you make an Arcana check against the enemy's spell save DC. If you are successful, then you have correctly pronounced the syllable. The Law of Resistance applies to each syllable. As with utterances, syllables need not be heard by the target to be effective. The class level of each syllable is equal to your Truenamer class level.

When properly spoken
Your target takes a -2 penalty on attack rolls, saves and checks for a number of rounds equal to your class level.

With a few words of Truespeech, your target finds themselves less capable. Even minor tasks are suddenly more difficult.

Saving Throw
Charisma save vs the Arcana roll used to speak the syllable.
