More information...

You hear the snapping of branches and a loud snort as the ground around you shakes. You turn your head, and see a great, scaly creature with impressive-looking triangular plates running down its spine. What really catches your attention is a set of four spikes on the end of the creature's tail, coated in dried blood. With a high-pitched bellow, the creature swings its tail at you at lightning speed...

A stegosaurus is a dim-witted, lumbering herbivore with few predators brave enough to attack it, and with good reason. While it is usually content to chew on whatever vegetation it sees, a Stegosaurus has a sharp set of spikes on its tail, parallel to each other. The bony plates on a stegosaurs back, however, are used to regulate bodily heat and ward off potential predators. A stegosaurus is about 30 feet long and weighs 2000 pounds.

Combat

A Stegosaurus does not attack unless it feels that it or its young are threatened. With its limited intelligence, this may happen any time a creature comes anywhere close to it, even on accident.

Tail Sweep (Ex): A stegosaurus can, as a move action, sweep it's tail in a half-circle radius

Heat Regulation (Ex): A Stegosaur's plates, in addition to being an intimidation device and a sexual display, alows it to control its body temperature and regulate its bloodflow. This grants the reptile resistance to fire and cold 10, meaning that each time it is subjected to such damage (be it from a natural or magical source), that damage is reduced by 10 points before being applied to the hit points of the Stegosaurus.

The resistance applies to the damage of such energy; the Stegosaurus could still suffer unfortunate side-effects, although they would only be half as severe as they normally would be.

A Stegosaurus can use Heat Regulation for 1d20 rounds, and must wait for 3d20 rounds before doing so again.
