Statistical Champion

Be it a basic character or a DM's Mary Sue, the Statistical Champion sacrifices class features for saves, BAB, hit die, and the like. It is very easy to make characters with this class.

Making a Statistical Champion

The Statistical Champion is anything that would need doing for the party. With a few extra feats and skills, you can make pretty much any non-spellcaster.

Abilities: A Statistical Champion would do better with all 12's than sacrifice any of its abilities.

Races: Any race can be a statistical champion.

Alignment: Any alignment can be a statistical champion.

Starting Gold: As fighter.

Starting Age: As fighter.

Any 15 skills can be chosen as class skills. All others will be regarded as cross-class skills.

Class Features

A Statistical Champion loses the ability to continue leveling in this class if she ever multiclasses into something else. All of the following are class features of the Statistical Champion.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: The Statistical Champion is proficient in all armors, as well as shields. They are also proficient in any 5 weapons.

Ex-Statistical Champion

Any Statistical Champion that receives an aid from another willingly loses her BAB and Save bonus for the next week. Other than that, there is no real way for a Statistical Champion to loose his abilities permanently.

Playing a Statistical Champion

Religion: A Statistical Champion is not a social category as much as it is simply a bunch of abilities. Regarded as such, it does not have any singular deity or pantheon of deities.

Other Classes: Statistical Champions stand well in the place of any thief, warrior, craftsman, or face character. She might even stand in as all of them at the same time.

Combat: Go friggin nuts. The Statistical Champion has little more than the 'I hit it with my sword' command.

Advancement: As an optional rule, the Statistical Champion can gain XP by failing checks and saves. XP cannot be gained after 'taking 10' or purposefully failing a save. Since the Statistical Champion is not the most skilled in combat, killing monsters wouldn't be the smartest option for a PC.

Statistical Champions in the World

"Don't take it personally, but I have a 400% larger chance of success than you do."
—Thrane Jopin, a Human Statistical Champion

Statistical Champions can act as many different NPCs in the world. Even the leader of a thieve's guild could be a Statistical Champion, for the purpose of a better Fortitude, Will, and BAB.

Daily Life: A Statistical Champion starts the day practicing his skills, usually spending about an hour a day to keep his skills sharp. Keep in mind that this is fluff, and Statistical Champions do not actually require one hour of practice per day.

NPC Reactions: Most NPCs consider Statistical Champions as fellow NPCs, except with more effectiveness. This can lead to slight respect or somewhat intolerance.

Statistical Champion Lore

Characters with ranks in knowledge(local) can research Statistical Champions to learn more about them. When a character makes a skill check, read or paraphrase the following, including information from lower DCs.

10A Statistical Champion hones skills and bonuses so they can always have a higher edge than others.
15Statistical Champions often take leadership positions in society or go off to become masters of a certain field.

gollark: I'm currently just archiving my entire 120GBish media library to the disk.
gollark: Well, for just *redundancy*, I have synchronization set up so some stuff is copied to my laptop (and partly phone) automatically.
