Ecology

Environment: Squirtle is one of the many types of creatures known as Pokemon, odd elemental based creatures that seem to grow more and more common with each passing day. They tend to live in rivers or ponds, particularly near forested areas where they can forage for nuts and berries in addition to finding water plants to eat. They respond well to training commands and often learn new commands by those who raise them. Squirtle tend to be common in ponds in areas, finding the mix of water and land quite useful in gathering food. They generally don't mind humans or other sentient creatures and sharing a space with them unless threatened and tend to be quite common in or around forested lakes or grassy plains.

Lore

Squirtles tend to hate electricity due to taking much more damage from it than a normal aquatic creature due to their elemental nature. If shocked, a squirtle is likely to flee from the source rather than risk death unless it feels strongly about the battle.

Squirtles can be domesticated easily enough and do make relatively easy to manage pets, though they do tend to cause trouble by lurking in baths and washing basins as nice sources of watery relaxation. They do make loyal companions and live for about 20 years, meaning they make long term companions for children.

gollark: Politics is complicated and quite hard to map onto a low-dimensional space nicely.
gollark: Anyway, what would you say *is* a communist outlook?
gollark: Added to your communistical profile.
