Squidfolk

Physical Description

Squidfolk are slimy humanoids that stand about 5 feet tall, and normally weigh about 75-100 pounds. They appear to have a solid body with their head resembling that of a full-sized squid. They have large tentacles instead of hands that have suction cups they can control at will. Instead of having their eyes on opposite sides of their heads like normal squids, they evolved front-facing eyes like most other humanoids.

History

Squidfolk evolved from normal squid in an ancient time when one of the gods blessed a group of ordinary squid. They then took their newfound bodies and intelligence to make tools and structures. Over hundreds of years squidfolk have built and tinkered with objects, trying to make a new product. Squidfolk eventually started to build civilizations and cities. They were so interested in science and knowledge that they became one of the most advanced races in all the realms.

Society

Squidfolk tend to live in large cities and towns, sometimes they even live in gigantic structures known as atlores. Squidfolk have no problem eating or hurting normal squid in some circumstances as they see ordinary squid as below them. However, if given the chance they will deny the option of eating squid. Squidfolk usually tend to work as engineers or alchemists, but some don't like knowledge; most of these squidfolk are outcasts and ignored.

Squidfolk Names

Squidfolk often name themselves after great inventors or engineers in history, though only a few chose to name their children otherwise

gollark: I would honestly expect the balance to tilt more towards "more player satisfaction", though.
gollark: I don't have any, but that doesn't mean the status quo is fine.
gollark: The raffle numbers are far too low.
gollark: Because you can increase average player satisfaction!
gollark: I mean, prizes in the market would have been pretty good for everyone. Doesn't even need that much hunting but does require some actual gameplay.
