More information...

A smiling medina has purple skin, a bulky female torso, and a tentacle in lieu of each limb. Its head has a wide, coy grin, somewhat disturbing blank, black beady eyes, and a group of semi-prehensile tentacles descending from the head like hair.

A smiling medina is a powerful magical creature of unknown origins. Smiling medinas have their power contained in their heads. These creatures generally have a playful, evasive nature, with as much philosophical and personal diversity as humans.

Smiling medinas speak beholder, draconic, and undercommon.

Combat:

Improved Grab(ex): when a smiling medina hits with a tentacle or bite attack, it can automatically start a grapple with the creature provided the target is no more than two size categories larger than the medina.

Swallow Whole(ex): a smiling medina can swallow a creature of equal or lower size class. The medina has gullet AC of 10 and 15HP. Creatures can cut themselves out with a light piercing or slashing weapon, after two rounds a muscular action closes the hole. The impossibly elastic gullet can hold up to 2 medium creatures, 4 small creatures, or 8 tiny creatures. A swallowed creature takes 1d12+2 acid damage and 2d6+6 bludgeoning damage each round. If it has 5 or more tiny creatures, 3 or more small creatures, or 2 medium creatures, it is slowed until it digests them (reduces to -30hp) or they escape. It can vomit a swallowed creature as a full-round action.

Spongey Respiration(ex): a smiling medina breathes by a porous tube network rather than lungs. It can breath in water or air, or any water-based fluids or air-based gases, and it is immune to all inhaled poisons.

Pulled Blows(ex): a smiling medina may deal nonlethal damage at no penalty.

Pelaturgy(sp): A smiling medina stores magic in it's hair-like tentacles. It has seven tentacles altogether. In order to use a touch spell, it must touch the target with its hair tentacle, which requires first having said target in a grapple. A smiling medina can use its pelaturgy when grappled without suffering penalties or making a concentration check. Each takes on a certain color depending upon the magic it stores. A tentacle can only use a given spell-like ability a certain number of times per day, depending on its level.

  • Lvl 0, unlimited use
  • Lvl 1, five times per day
  • lvl 2, twice per day
  • lvl 3-5 Once per day

The tentacle spell-like abilities have a DC equal to 10 + spell level + the medina's charisma mod.

Cure minor wounds at will, disrupt undead at will, lesser restoration 2/day, 1/day, animated dead 1/day, raise dead 1/day, slay living 1/day, halt undead 1/day

Head Strength: A smiling medina can survive decapitation. The body becomes confused instead of dying. The head breaks into a roaring laughter that confuses all creatures within 45ft for 1d4+1 rounds. The head can use its spell-like abilities and can move at a speed of 5ft. It has a secondary bite attack and diminutive size class (AC 22), Str8,Dex17,Con15, and 13hp. It can reattach itself as a full round action once it touches the body. The smiling medina's head strength is extraordinary, but its laughter is a supernatural, sonic, mind-affecting compulsion. The save DC to avoid confusion is 20.
