Skeleton Spawns (3.5e Race)

Skeleton Spawns are an extremely rare species of cannibal who is believed to be capable of eating the souls of their victims. Generally believed to be truly evil and a servant of the underworld, Skeleton spawns will only engage into combat when necessary or when its hunger for flesh is not quenched. Skeleton spawns still have the consciousness of their previous life, hence keeping their memories and psychological traits. Skeleton spawns can devour flesh up to twice their size. Somehow they manage to digest the flesh without needing to release any digested matter. The flesh is burnt in within their bodies as a digestive system, absorbing the essence of life to keep them energized and/or as a mean of healing any physical damages.
