Silver Elf (5e Subrace)

Elf Subrace

As a Silver Elf, you have a better understanding of the world than most other races, other elves included. In the world of Veut, the Selvari once carved a mighty empire all across the globe, only to fall in the Mage War. Afterward, the Selvari became scattered and began assimilating into the other kingdoms and cultures left.

Their appearance is extremely pale, requiring them to wear cloaks and hoods to protect themselves from the sun. They also tend to have hair closely resembling metals, but most commonly Silver (hence the name) and platinum. Silver Elves tend to live for a long time, provided they stay concealed from the Sun. It is theorized that Silver Elves could live indefinitely if they remain out of the harmful rays; they tend to stop physically aging around 26 years old. Silver Elves that live openly in the sun die of old age around 200 years. Because of this, Selvari are seen as humans with pointed ears by other elves.

Selvari are a small minority in the world. They do not bear children often and tend to have small families. Their aversion to the sun causes them to seek refuge in shaded cities or the Underdark. Their integration into many societies grants them useful knowledge on many customs throughout the world, making them good diplomats.

Selvari feel a strong connection to the Weave and how it flows over items, even if they do not know how to interact with it. They claim they can feel an almost living energy from magical items, and love to collect them. Some believe these items to be alive and begin to go insane after speaking just to crystal balls and wands for a long time. Some are good friends with enchanted swords.

gollark: The predator drones have been shelved due to navigational issues, and the cartdrones have proven much more stable in initial testing.
gollark: It's one of GTech's experimental projects. I may have borrowed the idea and some of the code from Frogcat Industrial's research.
gollark: Both OC drones, and "cartdrone" technology.
