Class Features

All of the following are class features of the Shadow Sliver.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Shadow Sliver has proficiency with all simple and martial melee weapons and needles. Shadow Sliver does not have proficiency with any armors or shields.

Double Needles: Double Needles allows the Shadow Sliver to wield and throw a needle in each hand. All normal penalties for two-weapon fighting apply.

Sneak Attack: If a Shadow Sliver can catch an opponent when he is unable to defend himself effectively from her attack, she can strike a vital spot for extra damage. The Shadow Sliver’s attack deals extra damage any time her target would be denied a Dexterity bonus to AC (whether the target actually has a Dexterity bonus or not), or when the Shadow Sliver flanks her target. This extra damage is 1d6 at 2nd level, and it increases by 1d6 every 3 Shadow Sliver levels thereafter. Should the Shadow Sliver score a critical hit with a sneak attack, this extra damage is not multiplied. Ranged attacks can count as sneak attacks only if the target is within 30 feet. With a sap (blackjack) or an unarmed strike, a Shadow Sliver can make a sneak attack that deals nonlethal damage instead of lethal damage. She cannot use a weapon that deals lethal damage to deal nonlethal damage in a sneak attack, not even with the usual –4 penalty. A Shadow Sliver can sneak attack only living creatures with discernible anatomies—undead, constructs, oozes, plants, and incorporeal creatures lack vital areas to attack. Any creature that is immune to critical hits is not vulnerable to sneak attacks. The Shadow Sliver must be able to see the target well enough to pick out a vital spot and must be able to reach such a spot. A Shadow Sliver cannot sneak attack while striking a creature with concealment or striking the limbs of a creature whose vitals are beyond reach.

Meee Needles: As a standard action, Melee Needles allows the Shadow Sliver to make one attack with each needle at base damage, -5 from the highest attack bonus.

Multithrow: Beginning third level, the Shadow Sliver can make an additional attack at -5 from her lowest attack bonus. The number of additional attacks made is increased by 1 every 4 levels after 3 (2 attacks at 7, 3 attacks at 11, 4 attacks at 15, and 5 attacks at 19).

Evasion(Ex): At 3rd level or higher if a Shadow Sliver makes a successful Reflex saving throw against an attack that normally deals half damage on a successful save, she instead takes no damage. Evasion can be used only if a Shadow Sliver is wearing or no armor. A helpless Shadow Sliver does not gain the benefit of evasion.

Two-weapon Fighting: The penalties for fighting with two weapons is reduced. The penalty for the main hand is reduced by 2, and the penalty for the off hand is reduced by 6.

Uncanny Dodge: Starting at 6th level, a Shadow Sliver can react to danger before her senses would normally allow her to do so. She retains her Dexterity bonus to AC (if any) even if she is caught flat-footed or struck by an invisible attacker. However, she still loses her Dexterity bonus to AC if immobilized.

Improved Two-weapon Fighting: In addition to the standard single extra attack you get with an off-hand weapon, you get a second attack with it, albeit at a –5 penalty.

Barrage of Needles (Su): Beginning 10th level, a Shadow Sliver can launch all of her ranged needle attacks at a single target at once, at a -5 penalty from her highest attack modifier. Sneak attack can be applied to this skill once. This skill can be used 1/day at level 10, 2/day at level 15 and 3/day at level 20.

Spread Needle: Beginning level 12, a Shadow Sliver does not have to launch all of her attacks at the same opponent. She can launch her attacks at any opponent in range that she has line of sight with, and gain sneak attack with each different opponent. This skill does not apply to Barrage of Needles.

gollark: IIRC when adding Python support they dropped the assembly-language-programming features.
gollark: Well, you should. They're fairly cheap now.
gollark: Have you installed an SSD? SSD good, as they say.
gollark: `units` is a really cool calculator program which automatically does unit conversion.
gollark: So it takes a few hundred milliseconds to load.
