Shadow Beast (Transformation) (5e Race)

Shadow Beast Transformations

One of the unique abilities of the Twilight Guard is the ability to transform into a creature of shadow. This transformation lasts up to 10 minutes, and all stats not directly changed remain the same. You may not use weapons, spells that involve materials (Unless you gain an arcane focus after your transformation) or armour, however any armour or gear you're wearing is absorbed into you. While transformed, you gain the following features regardless of the transformation:

  • Natural Armor. Your AC becomes 10 + your Constitution modifier.
  • Type Change. You are counted as both a construct and a beast.
  • Beastial Endurance. You gain temporary hit points equal to your Constitution modifier.
  • Dark Flesh. You gain resistance to necrotic damage.
  • Steadfast Beast. You cannot be charmed or frightened while transformed.
  • Language Change. You can understand any languages you already knew, but cannot speak.

If the target is grappled, you may make a number of bite attacks equal to your proficiency bonus against the target. If an attack misses, you are thrown off the target. You may use this once per target.

In addition, while stationary you are impossible to distinguish from a shadow on the floor, should you be hiding within them.
