Sapient Cat (5e Race)
Sapinent Cat
Among more mundane felines some cats have gained full sapience.
Cats by Any Other Name
Most sapient cats look mostly indistinguishable from regular cats, they share size, shape and color with their more beastly counterparts. Their sharp claws and piercing teeth acts as natural weapons. The biggest physical difference between a sapient and a normal cat is the sapients' higher pawal dexterity, their thumbs being larger and opposable, giving the sapients the ability to gain proficiency with humanoid tools with only slight modifications. Cats can use any tiny barding (same prize as humanoid armor, 1/8th weight) that they have the armor proficiency.
Cats of a Mystic Origin
Sapient cats are usually the offspring of a normal cat mother and more mystical father. While other are the offspring of sapients themselves. The sapience breeds true with normal cats.
Some of them gather in small groups at the fringes of humanoid society, but most are content living with humanoids.
