SandWings

We're dragons, not caterpillars. We can do things differently if we choose to.
—Princess Sunny

SandWings, also known as Sand dragons by others or Desert dragons by scavengers, are a desert-dwelling tribe of Pyrrhian dragons whose scale pigmentation ranges from pale gold, light yellow, off-white, and pale brown. some dragons describes the scales of a normal SandWing as “pale and sort of dusty looking”. They have a ridge going from their head and about 3/4 of their tails, forked black tongues, and glittering black eyes. SandWings are also to poison their victims with the tips of their venom-barbed tails, which are quite similar to a scorpion's. All SandWings have heat-radiating scales.

History

Queen Oasis was murdered by a scavenger or a group of three scavengers, who then took some of the SandWing Treasure. since no one had challenged Queen Oasis yet the three successors, Blister, Blaze, and Burn erupted into war, dragging the rest of Pyrrhia along with them. The Eye of Onyx, an animus-touched item that made whoever holding it the SandWing queen (additional enchantments are placed on it to insure that the SandWings only had good queens), was hidden in Queen Oasis' jaws, buried with her in her grave. Flower the scavenger, who would later become Smolder's pet, placed it in her mouth before running to hide. Blister killed Burn with a package containing two Dragonbite Vipers and challenged Blaze, but she exploded into a pile of black ashes when she snatched the enchanted Eye of Onyx away from Thorn, who Sunny declared as queen. Queen Thorn is the current queen, her heir is Princess Sunny, though Sunny does not want to be queen.

Society

Most SandWings live in the desert, and since they are in wide open spaces, most Sandwings have gained claustrophobia. They able to survive for much longer periods of time without water then the other dragon tribes and only need to eat a small lizard every day to feel full. SandWings are very a musical tribe. They have also a celebration called the "Full Moon Festival".
