Other Classes

The samurai classes typically view other non-samurai classes according to castes. All caste classes are identified as either peasants, nobles, merchants. Members of other cultures are all casteless; the lowest possible. Characters of this class interact with characters of lower social castes as equals or otherwise on a case-by-case basis and only if they are superior in at least some profession. Samurai are basically meritocrats that value everyone according to their abilities, but nobody is truly equal to the samurai except another samurai of the same rank. Samurai insist on installing their hierarchical social strucure, everywhere they go.
