SRD Talk:Summon Monster I

Templates

I've been adding templates to monsters to get the Summon Monster equivalent. I'm really not sure if I am doing the right thing with vermin however. Celestial and Fiendish templates change vermin to Magical Beasts. They also get an int score of 3. This makes them no longer mindless, and they get skills and feats. My questions are: does the caster of summon monster pick the skills and feats? Do they stay mindless with their int of 3? --Aarnott 15:37, 25 June 2007 (MDT)

Sledged can address this better. Summoners don't normally control the skills of creatures, so I see this as being a DM decision. IMHO, you (the DM's proxy) should pick the skills that work best for the creature.--Dmilewski 08:57, 26 June 2007 (MDT)
I actually noticed that the Celestial and Fiendish templates do not modify skills (but they say nothing of feats). I also found that CustServ said that feats are added to a vermin with one of the two templates. Do you think I should pick feats that are consistant with SRD monsters or feats that add power (with out using cheap exploits)? --Aarnott 07:45, 27 June 2007 (MDT)

Summon Monster Table

I found that in parts of the Summon Monster table, many of the links do not go to the right creature. When the create name is two words (e.g. Celestrial Giant Bee) the links are split into "Celestrial" and "Giant Bee" instead of "Celestrial Giant Bee" (where it should really go to "http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Celestial_Giant_Bee_(3.5e_Creature)").

gollark: ```This egg feels like all future spacetime trajectories lead into it.```
gollark: GϘn.
gollark: Revised description:```Mana courses through this glassy egg, producing a beautiful glow - it's very reflective, almost metallic. It has a red gleam, too, and smells faintly like brine. It shimmers like gold, and it seems as if time is distorted around it. It is much smaller than the other eggs, and looks like lots of pieces of paper folded together and smelling faintly like cheese. It occupies every point in the spacetime continuum.```
