SRD Talk:Prone

Rolling to Aviod Attack of Opportunity

While the prone status condition implies that the character is immobile, it is not specifically stated that the character is incapable of movement, simply that they suffer a penalty to attack and defense. Should a player be allowed to roll away from a threatened square, as a 5-foot move, to avoid an Attack of Opportunity from standing up? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.219.244.108 (talk • contribs) 02:22, 4 January 2009 (MST). Certainly. There are rules on that somewhere. I think that you can 5-foot step as a move action. The movement section contains far more detail on what you can/can't do while prone. Definitions are simply definitions for various states.--Dmilewski 18:40, 4 January 2009 (MST)

AC against that Attack of Opportunity While Standing

If you get attacked while moving into a standing position, does the -4 to AC against melee attacks still apply until you've stood up completely, or does starting to stand remove the -4 penalty before the attack of opportunity applies? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 11:21, 4 September 2011 (MST) (talk • contribs) . gollark: And down.
gollark: Oh, it went back up again.
gollark: Excitingly, TPS is now about 5.
gollark: Anyway, I guess it seems non-impossible given that the reference DFPWM thing doesn't really attempt to model human perception of audio whatsoever.
gollark: I see.
