SRD Talk:Mage Armor
Stacking?
does this armor bonus stack with real armor? Zau 19:44, 27 June 2008 (MDT)
- Nope, like-types don't stack. So if you have a Chain Shirt or better this is useless. Then again, this is mostly for casters who can't wear armor. -- Eiji 19:48, 27 June 2008 (MDT)
- It does bear mentioning that this can be usaful for a fighter in specific situations. For example, a spectre's attack is a Melee attack that bypasses corporeal armor, this means his full plate is useless against the attack, but if he has mage armor on, it still counts toward his AC. --Ganre 20:27, 27 June 2008 (MDT)
One Doth Wonder
The spell describes itself as a force. So, should a person use Shadow Conjuration to cast Mage Armor, what would the effects be? 20% of 4 would be.. 0.8 AC bonus.. so..? --SgtLion 12:43, 21 November 2009 (MST)
- 0.8 would round down to +0. So yes, pretty useless. Then again, using a 4th level spell to imitate a 1st level spell is a poster-child for sub-optimal. --Dmilewski 19:07, 22 November 2009 (MST)
