Damage

It says that holy water damages undead and evil outsiders as if it were acid. This is a good question. Our group has always done it on initial hit only - but we've also never looked into it at any great depth. So, to answer - I'm not sure.   Hooper   talk    contribs    email   09:33, 29 August 2009 (MDT)

It does not do on going damge. Note that the text does not say "as if it were acid" or "as acid" or "like acid" but "almost as if it were acid," 'almost' and 'were' being the key words there. This means that it is not an acid attack, but it merely meant to describe teh effect of holy water on the flesh of undead and evil outsiders - a burning, searing, dissolving kind of damage.

Creation of holy water

One of my players asked me how to get holy water. Under normal circumstances you get it or buy it from your local temple or church at 25 GP per vial.

But my players are cut of from the rest of the world in a small valley with no functioning temples or churhes. This valley is crawling with undeads, so holy water could be really useful.

My question is how do the temples or churches get or create holy water? - Is it the result of a spell I have overlooked? - Is it an cleric ability gained at some level? - Is all water from wells in holy ground holy? (if so what makes holy ground holy?) - And what about unholy water?
