SRD Talk:Craft Skill
One does not need to be a spellcaster to craft Alchemy items. Just thought I should bring that up as one of the tables on the page seems to indicate otherwise. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.56.96.181 (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts.
- Yes, they do. It may or may not have been that way in 3.0 (I never played it, but I do know alchemy was handled differently), but it is that way in 3.5. See page 71 of the 3.5 Player's handbook for confirmation. --Daniel Draco 05:27, 6 May 2008 (MDT)
- I'm sure most people aren't going to play like that; since having to be a spellcaster to make basic potions doesn't make any sense. You're mixing up alchemical ingredients to produce a specific effect. You aren't imbuing potions with spells like the Brew Potion feat (page 89 in the 3.5 handbook), which it makes sense that you'd have to be a spellcaster to take. Alchemy in D&D is screwy enough, having to be a spellcaster to use it in the first place just makes it pointless. —ClarityNHZach (talk) 21:05, 24 January 2015 (MST)
Types of Craft's
I am really interested in what types of Craft can one have, what can be made with each craft and if there are any synergies. for examlpe
Alchemy: potions synergy: none
Blacksmithing: Metal weapons, Armor and Misc. synergy: ...
and all other types.
- Alchemy, Armorsmithing, Bowmaking, Weaponsmithing and Trapmaking are in the SRD table.
- Carpentry, Pottery and Leatherworking are given as examples in the PHB.
- I don't quite follow your proposed synergies. Potions are made with an item creation feat. Marasmusine (talk) 03:26, 12 December 2013 (MST)

smithing?
Can I have a generic blacksmithing or metalworking skill rather than weapons and armor being separate?
- Sounds like something you should ask your DM. Marasmusine (talk) 08:36, 25 January 2015 (MST)
gollark: Computronics does, though.
gollark: That's a fair point. I don't think OC has stuff for that.
gollark: Oh.
gollark: How can drones damage you?
gollark: Unless they just use the internet to download a big program for control. That would work fine.
