Rock Human

Physical Information

Rock Humans are near-indistinguishable from Humans, except that their skin is dry and rough, and some have small spines here and there.

The Rock Human Life Cycle

A Rock Human is born to a mother and father as a half-an-inch long larva, which will seek out a beehive, where it will leech off the hive's resources until it is about two feet long, when it will destroy the hive and its inhabitants. After this, the child enters its first hibernation, lasting for around a month. During this time, the child molts into its first adult body. From there, a Rock Human begins its adult life, molting into a new body every 6 years. Around the age of 200, they will seek out a member of the opposite sex to have a child with, thus beginning the cycle anew.

Attitudes and Beliefs

Rock Humans are a solitary race, and only cooperate with other Rock Humans if there is an immediate personal gain. They will almost never cooperate with those outside of their race.

Rock Human Names

Rock Humans don't usually give themselves names. In the event that one assimilates into society, it will likely take on a name appropriate to their culture.

Rock Human Traits

Beings of stone, Rock Humans live their lives detached from the world.
Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 2 and your Intelligence score increases by 1.
Age. A Rock Human larva reaches adulthood after about a year, and will live to be 250 or so.
Alignment. Rock Humans never cooperate with each other without a glaring reason to, and will never work with other races except under the most dire of circumstances. Thus most Rock Humans are True Neutral or Neutral Evil.
Size. Rock Humans are roughly the same height as humans. Your size is Medium
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Hibernation. You can enter a catatonic state of hibernation. During this time, you and any items on your person are considered Petrified. You can hibernate indefinitely, and can end the hibernation as an action.
Sense of Direction. You always know how far and in what direction you have travelled, and can gauge the time to within 1 hour. These benefits apply even while hibernating
Strong Stomach. You can consume any organic material as a source of nutrition.
Stone Skin. You have tough skin, like that of a rock. While not wearing armor, your base AC is equal to 13 + your Dexterity modifier. You can use your natural armor to determine your AC if the armor you wear would leave you with a lower AC. A shield's benefits apply as normal while you use your natural armor.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Locacaca. Locacaca is a language of clicks and hums, only used when Rock Humans seek each other out to procreate.

gollark: If I build an *identical* house in the same place, with all the same contents, somehow, I don't care that much.
gollark: I see.
gollark: Indisputable how?
gollark: I mean, that would imply that your consciousness was particularly tied to those exact atoms, which would be... odd, I don't know.
gollark: *Would* you notice? That seems to assume some things.
