Robots come in nearly infinite shapes and sizes. They can be humanoid, animal-like, vehicular, mechs, you name it. Usually, these robots are humanoid size, but they can be small to large. Robots also have various appendages, whether they have regular arms and hands, claws, tools, or built-in weaponry; regular legs and feet, wheels, tracks, or a combination of two or all of them. Older robots tend to move slowly, but the newer ones can move as fast as any humanoid creature, if not faster.

History

Robots are otherworldly constructs who have traveled through the planes from another time and dimension. You have no ability to cross back to your world, yet you constantly seek to get home, wherever that is, which you don't know. Being an entity of logic, this presents you a huge logical dilemma and robots don't prefer to discuss this with anyone. Instead, you have become sentient and self-repairing to your now defunct programming. You have the ability to alter your program slightly every week, trying to find your way through life. You have developed nano-technology in your circuits that slowly repair broken components. You seek out processed metal and silicon at any opportunity to keep as spare building materials.

Robots have the ability to imitate not only weapons combat by reprogramming and upgrading their bodies, but they can "learn" spells as any character could by replicating the effects of any spell. Thus, caster classes are not impossible to be played by a robot.

Society

There is no robot society as you are an extra-planar being displaced from another time and dimension. You are alone, unless you find a person to cast a wish spell for another robot to join you.

Robot Names

Robots most often receive their names from the people who created them.

Male: Atom, Bender, 343 Guity Spark, Cordu, Data, HAL, Johnny Five, Jumn, Mach, Pops, Wall-E, WX-78, BB-8, R2-D2, Fetch, Springtrap

Female: Alita, Ani, Eve, Galatea, Giffany, Giga, Roll, Rosie, Six, T-X, Vicki, Wiane

Robot Traits

Infinitely varied mechanical constructs comprised of decades of advanced technology. The physical description of the robot you make, however, is entirely up to you and your DM.
Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 2.
Age. Robots do not mature or age. They are just built and stay as-is.
Alignment. Most robots are made to serve and typically have the same or a similar alignment to their creator. They tend towards lawful aliments.
Size. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Construct Nature. You are a construct, not a humanoid. You don't need to breathe, eat, or drink, but you do need to enter a shut-down period of 4 hours to gain the benefits of a long rest.
Armored Skin. Your AC while not wearing armor is equal to 13 + your Dexterity modifier.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Mechanical. You are immune to disease and the charmed and poisoned conditions.
Languages. You can read, speak, and write Common as well as one other language.
Subrace. Battle Robot, Labor Robot, Medical Robot.

Battle Robot

Ability Score Increase. Your Strength score increases by 1.
War Proficiency. You are proficient with any four weapons of your choice.
Fast. Your base walking speed is now 35 feet.
Swift Strike. You can use your bonus action to dash. If you end your movement within 5 feet of a creature after using this trait, you may make a melee attack against that creature.

Labor Robot

Ability Score Increase. Your Intelligence score increases by 1.
Linguist. You learn one language of your choice.
Expertise. You gain proficiency with one set of tools.

Medical Robot

Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score increases by 1.
Medical Sensor. You have knowledge of the location of creatures affected by poisons or diseases within 60 feet of you.
Medical Knowledge. You have a pool of healing power that replenishes when you take a long rest. With that pool, you can restore a total number of hit points equal to your level x 5. As an action, you can touch q creature and expend 5 hit points from your pool of healing to restore a number of hit points to that creature, up to the maximum amount remaining in your pool. Alternatively, you can expend 5 hit points from your pool of healing to cure the target of one disease or neutralize one poison affecting it. You can cure multiple diseases and neutralize multiple poisons with a single use of healing, expending hit points separately from each use. This feature has no effect on undead.
Medical Knowledge. You have proficiency in Medicine.
