Class Features

Anathema Cloak: (Su) At first level, the Reality Tinker is a void upon the divine matrix that underlies the Multiverse. He is effectively invisible to a God’s deification senses and cannot be detected by the likes of Remote Sensing or Portfolio Sense, should he come into range of either.

Cosmic Protection: At first level, the Reality Tinker gains spell resistance 27 + Reality Tinker level.

Eyes of the Omnipotent: (Ex) At second level, the Reality Tinker gains a spell like ability similar to True Seeing, except it cannot be dispelled or suppressed. In addition, you are able to detect the presence or recent presence of any Deity. You are able to determine if an item has ever been handled by a Deity(including Demi-Gods). This ability will also detect a being with Divine Rank even when in any form of disguise, although they will not be able to discern which deity it is from this ability.

Fluid Form: (Su) At second level, the Reality Tinker is able to cast Alter Self at will. This effect cannot be suppressed and cannot be unwillingly dispelled. A True Seeing (Sp) spell is able to discern the truth.

Forgotten Gift: At third level, the Reality Tinker receives a Cosmic bonus to some of his/her abilities. You gain a +4 to your Charisma score and a +2 to your Constitution score.

Idle Mind: At third level, the Reality Tinker is in a mental rut. After attempting to gain further knowledge into how the world around you works, a mental block forms. You are no longer able to advance any further into the Reality Tinker class, although you can still gain experience. To overcome this mental block you must successfully [Retain Essence] from an item that has been handled by a demigod/god. (DC:35 knowledge the planes: Rather than find a rare artifact, your best bet is to look inside various churches. The denizens inside may not be so welcome to you taking this item however.) Successfully using [Retain Essence] on one of these items will allow further progression into the Reality Tinker PrC.

Cosmic Core: (Ex) At fourth level the Reality Tinker gains damage reduction. Against foes with the [Evil] Subtype, you gain (DR20+Reality Tinker level / [Good]). Against foes with the [Good] Subtype, you gain (DR20+Reality Tinker level / [Evil]). Against creatures with neither a good or evil subtype, you gain (DR20 / [Epic]). *This damage reduction is a cosmic bonus and can stack with any other damage reduction bonuses the character may have.

Transcendent Focus: Starting at fourth level and re-appearing at seventh and ninth levels. There is a chance you gain the increasing attention of the Gods. The DM will roll the dice to determine what Deity alignment has set his/her gaze upon you. If the die rolled matches the Reality Tinker's alignment, see below*.

Starting at fourth level, if a Deity takes interest in what you're doing he/she will send an emissary(CR:9-11 favored creature) to contact you. The demeanor of the creature is up to the DM's discretion and based generally off the alignment of the Deity. At seventh level, another Deity takes interest in you and this time with a more stern eye. Again, he/she will send another emissary to contact you (CR:15-17). At ninth level, another Deity takes interest in you, great interest. It would seem that a simple mortal has somehow caused a disturbance in the cosmos, and some secrets should remain secrets. The Deity will send a strong emissary to contact you (CR:19-21). (20% chance the emissary will have a cohort)

  • If the Reality Tinker's alignment matches that of the deity, the emissary will grant the Reality Tinker a cosmic boon, +1 level.

The reason a Deity is sending an emissary is that they are able to detect a disturbance in their Divine Matrix however are unable to scry what it is that is causing the disturbance. A Reality Tinker who travels with companions would be located faster as the Reality Tinker themselves would be undetected but his companions would be seen by the Gods. The demeanor of the emissary becomes more unpleasant the further the alignment shift from the Reality Tinker. Contact with an emissary doesn't always mean combat. Your demeanor and skills have a great factor in the outcome of this encounter. The emissary has been sent to find out more about you as the Gods have been unable to personally scry upon the Reality Tinker but know there have been disturbances in the divine matrix and it centers around you.

Time Ebb: (Su) At fifth level, the Reality Tinker's understanding of the cosmos around him awaken. You are able to see glimpses into your own destiny and are able to spontaneously cast Time Stop (Su) as an Immediate action once per day.

Almighty Will: At fifth level, the Reality Tinker gains a cosmic bonus to their Will save equal to their Reality Tinker level. You may re-roll any failed Wisdom save once per day.

Craft Mastery: At sixth level, the Reality Tinker has mastered the art of Arcane/Divine creation. Double your craft reserve.

Almighty Fortitude: At sixth level, the Reality Tinker gains a cosmic bonus to their Fortitude save equal to their Reality Tinker level. You may re-roll any failed Fortitude save once per day.

Almighty Reflexes: At seventh level, the Reality Tinker gains a cosmic bonus to their Reflexes save equal to their Reality Tinker level. You may re-roll any failed Reflex save once per day.

Craft Artifact: At eighth level, the Reality Tinker hones the art of magical creation and realizes that an artifact isn't so much an artifact as it is a very expensive and very time consuming item that requires a painstakingly involved process. You receive a 75% less experience modifier and a 50% less GP modifier when crafting*. Time taken to create this item remains the same. (*This ability can only work on items in the Major Wondrous items table, Artifacts table, or when creating your own item of similar value/power)

Divine Spark (Ex): At tenth level, the Reality Tinker discovers a secret truly unknown. When a being imbued with great Cosmic energy, such as a Deity or Demi-God uses their powers, traces of it are left behind; albeit minuscule and intangible. You have honed your insights into the powers of creation and are able to see and absorb the remnant Cosmic energy. You gain +1 Divine Rank and add the Divine Character Template to your own. (This Cosmic energy only seems to appear on the Material plane and once the energy is absorbed, is no longer a spot that can be absorbed by future Reality Tinkers. Thus if another person were to discover this process, it would be that much harder to find remnant Cosmic energy unless of course the Deities have visited the Material Plane and used their powers.)

Ex-Reality Tinkers

Playing a Reality Tinker

A Reality Tinker brings the same utility they did as an Artificer however a few strange encounters may arise from them progressing further into the class that might come as very random to the rest of your campaign. These encounters, and even the nature of your new found abilities, may open up new adventures for your group.

Combat: The typical role in combat remains similar to their previous role in combat as an Artificer.

Reality Tinkers in the World

Only whispers in the highest of Arcane or Divine circles are aware of the Reality Tinker's existence.

So thats where it goes!

NPC Reactions: NPC's would react in a similar manner they would when seeing an Epic level Artificer. A very rare sort of magic user.

Reality Tinker Lore

Characters with ranks in Knowledge (Arcana) or Knowledge (Religion) can research the Reality Tinker to learn more about them. When a character makes a skill check, read or paraphrase the following, including information from lower DCs.

21The Reality Tinker sees the world around them differently. They take almost a philosophical approach to the mechanics of the multiverse.
26It is believed that a Halfling named Glinkle is the first to become a Reality Tinker.
31Becoming a Reality Tinker may invoke the wrath of the Gods down upon you.
46There is still more out there that can be learned. Gaining divine Rank is only the first step.
