Phoenix


Phoenix Traits

Fiery feathered birds with control of the element of fire. Some have more attributes as well.
Ability Score Increase. Dexterity +2, Constitution +2
Age. Adulthood is officially 100 years, there aging process is slow and can live up to 500 years.
Alignment. Phoenix kin can range from chaotic to lawful. They tend to avoid being evil
Size. Like humans, Phoenix kin vary widely in height and build, from barely 5 feet to well over 6 feet tall. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Flame affinity. You are Immune to Fire damage and have resistance to cold damage
Iridescence Flames. As an Action you change the colour of your flaming feathers to the coloured linked with your Subrace and send out a bright flashes of this coloured fire to a point you can see within 30ft. The flashes of fire blossoms with a low roar into an explosion of coloured fire. Each creature in a 20-foot radius Sphere centered on that point if affect by the coloured fires effect, this fire spreads around corners. Some subraces flames will cause creatures to make a saving throw the DC for this effect is 8 + Proficiency bonus + Constitution modifier. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier, and regain the ability to do so after a long rest.
Flight. You gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed.
Bodily Flame. You body is always warm to touch as a bonus action you can give off a glow of light if either a warm orange or in the colour of your subrace. This glow shed 30ft of bright light and further 30ft of dim light. You can end this glow as a free action.
Languages. Common and Primordial
Subrace. There are six Subraces of Phoenix each linked with different types of coloured fire.


Crimson

Red Fire Your feathers turn a Bright vibrant red. All affected creatures need to succeed Dexterity saving throws or take 1d6+ your Constitution modifier in fire damage on failure or half as much on success. This increases to by 1d6 at 5th level(2d6) and gain by another 1d6 at 11th level (3d6) and then again at 17th level (4d6).

Purity

Green Fire Your feathers turn a Bright vibrant green. All affected creatures of your choice heal for 2d4+ your Constitution modifier. This healing increases by 2d4 at 5th level and again by another 2d4 at 11th and 17th level. You can forgo the healing to instead purify the creature curing them of one of the following effects: Blinded, Diseased, Deafened, Paralyzed, or Poisoned. At 11th level you cure more powerful effects: Curse, Charmed, Petrified, Health or Ability score reduction.

Heavenly

White Flames Your feathers turn a pure white. All affected creatures need to succeed a constitution saving throw or take 2d6 Radiant and are blinded until the end of their next turn. This increases to by 2d6 at 5th level(4d6), and gain by another 2d6 at 11th level (6d6), and then again at 17th level (8d6).

Safety

Yellow Flames Your feathers turn a Bright vibrant yellow. All creatures of your choice have gain a fly speed of 30ft and don’t provoke opportunity attacks. Furthermore, you may use this ability as a reaction when you are falling. This flight lasts until the end of your next turn. At 5th level this effect lasts for 1 minute, then increases to 10 minutes at 11th level, and increase further to 1 hour at 17th level.

Chaos

Black FlamesYour feathers turn a sinister black. All creatures of your choice need to make a a constitution saving throw or take 1d4 necrotic damage. You gain an amount of temporary hit points equal to the total damage that each creature took combined. This increases by 1d4 at 5th level(2d4, and another 1d4 at 11th level (3d4), and then again at 17th level (4d4).

Fuchsia

Purple Flames Your feathers turn a many shades of purple. All affected creatures need to make a intelligence saving throw or become stunned until the start of your next turn. At 11th level, if a creature is stunned by this effect, they fall unconscious until they take damage.
