Path of Equality, Tsuriai (3.5e Monk Fighting Style)

Tsuriai

The path of equality allows monks to fight on even terms with all creatures, even the strongest of wizards or the most overzealous cleric. Tsuriai mastery allows a monk to take already existing spells and nullify them using the Yin Yang principle.

Yin Yang says that the exact universal opposite of an object exists inside that object in small amounts. Tsuriai amplifies the small amount using ki in order to create a balancing neutrality that nullifies the spell altogether.

1st-Level Skill Bonus: Knowledge(arcana).

1st-Level Feat: Deflect Arrows.

2nd-Level Feat: Snatch Arrows.

6th-Level Feat: Improved Counterspell.

6th-Level Bonus Ability: Mirakikan. A master of Tsuriai can use the Mirakikan technique in order to deflect spells. In order to decide whether or not Mirakikan was successful, treat Mirakikan as a dispel check similar to the dispel magic spell. You roll 1d20 + 1/2 monk level + Wis modifier against a DC 11 + caster level.

Prerequisites: Spellcraft 5 ranks, Skill Focus (Spellcraft).
