True Orcs

The orcs presented in the Monster Manual is intensely unsatisfying. This is an orc variant that makes a lot more sense and is a lot more balanced with traditional 3.5 races.

True orcs act exactly like traditional orcs, except they don't suck.

True orcs are treated exactly like traditional orcs, except they don't suck.

Alignment

True orcs have the same alignments as traditional orcs, except they don't suck.

Lands

True orcs live in exactly the same environments like traditional orcs, except they don't suck.

Religion

True orcs have exactly the same religions as traditional orcs, except they don't suck.

Language

True orcs speak Orc and Goblin. Except they don't suck.

Names

True orcs have exactly the same names as traditional orcs, except they don't suck.

Racial Traits

  • +2 Strength, -2 Intelligence
  • Humanoid (Goblinoid): Orcs have always been closely associated with goblins as "greenskins" and thus should be included as the same type.
  • Medium-sized: As medium characters, true orcs have no special bonuses or penalties due to size.
  • A True Orcs' base land speed is 30 feet.
  • Darkvision out to 60 feet.
  • Racial Skills: A true orc has a +4 racial bonus on Move Silently and Intimidate checks.
  • Rage: A true orc can rage just like a 1st-level barbarian, once per day. A true orc with barbarian levels merely gains 1 additional rage use per day from this ability.
  • Automatic Languages: Common, Orc.
  • Bonus Languages: Goblin, Dwarven, Giant, Gnoll, Undercommon.
  • Favored Class: Barbarian
