Savage and lawless tribes of orcs and ogres are often found fighting and living together. Where this happens, mating is inevitable, often with a dominant male ogre imposing his base desires on an unlucky female orc. The resulting sterile crossbreeds are raised like any other orc young - those that survive that brutal gauntlet may grow up with the wanderlust of an adventurer.

Play an ogrillon if you want...

  • to be able to associate with orcs and ogres
  • to enjoy bashing things with your fists
  • to be a member of a race that favors the fighter, ranger and rogue classes.

Physical Qualities

As the offspring of ogres and orcs, they tend to resemble the latter. They are muscular humanoids with grey skin, pig-like noses, beady eyes and mouths with short tusks. They can be distinguished by their rough, gibbous skin and their particularly unlovely appearance. More so than ogres, they have crooked teeth, straggly and wiry hair, asymmetrical eyes and hideous breath. Their hands in particular are brutishly large with gristly knuckles and knobbled dorsals.

Playing an Ogrillon

Ogrillons live for one thing - to smash things. Those that grew up with orcs are domineering, overconfident and bullying. Those that were raised with ogres are spiteful, vengeful and bitter. Either way, they express their personality through constant brawling and vandalism. An ogrillon that is unable to engage in violent solutions to problems are listless and bad-tempered. Those that are able to live in more civilized places than savage tribes are often able to find work as gang enforcers, bouncers and city guard "specialists": although they understand the value of coinage, as long as they are well fed and kept active, they ask for little pay. They can also enjoy a career in mining or demolitions. When not fighting, ogrillons enjoy feasting, quaffing and drumming.

The rare ogrillon that can think beyond immediate violence may consider the kind of legacy they can leave. Because they are sterile, they may be fustrated that they cannot bare children - megalomania is the usual substitute, but a fixation on a great project is also possible (level a mountain, or suchlike). Ogrillons can and do fall in love with fairer creatures like humans and elves, although this barely pacifies them for any length of time.

Ogrillon Adventurers

Three sample ogrillon adventurers are described below.

Tarakk the Obese is an ogrillon brawling fighter. He hires himself out to adventuring parties as a "threshold specialist" - that is, he loves to knock doors down. He also enjoys copper coins, eating baby kobolds, and long walks on the beach.

Agang is an ogrillon brawny rogue. She worked as an enforcer for a powerful underworld boss. The city council underwent a change in regime, and her entire gang went "missing". Since she considered them her adpoted family, she searches endlessly for them unaware of their fate.

Ragrog is an ogrillon earth warden. In his youth, he and his ogre tribe delighted in uprooting and burning down trees, destroying whole sections of forest. However, something gripped his heart during one violent incursion in which hundreds of woodland creatures met their demise. He took this as a sign from primal forces (it was actually a spot of bad indigestion from a gnome he ate for breakfast) and abandoned his tribe in confusion, retreating to the depths of the forest.

gollark: Or "beware the apioforms".
gollark: I was thinking about just adding invisible "apioform" keywords to all the pages.
gollark: I should add "apioform" to osmarks.tk to link it to the new apiophenomenon, but how?

gollark: Λ you.
