Oath of the Chalice (5e Subclass)

Oath of The Chalice

Many who take up the mantle of paladin find themselves serving the ideals of law and order, but not all. Some paladins serve other forces, the deep, and darker desires of mankind need to be championed as well, after all. These paladins are beacons of debauchery and revelry, and are rarely acknowledged as paladins. Standing for causes such as hedonism is rarely a calling that is given credence, but few will deny that a world without such pleasures is a nightmare that none wish to live through.

Tenets of The Chalice

Fan the Flames. Passion is in short supply, thus your own passion must serve as a beacon to others.
Joy Before Revelry. Passion and joy are to be protected, but if one brings suffering to others for their own sake, they are to be punished.
Share of Your Wine. Should you have the means, share your good fortunes with those less fortunate.
Carry the Festivities. Without your own joy, you cannot be a champion of revelry. Always carry joy and passion within your own heart.

Channel Divinity

When you choose this Oath at 3rd level you gain access to the following Channel Divinity options:

Let the Party Begin As an action, you present your holy symbol and let loose a wild cry. Up to 5 creatures you designate within 30 feet of you that can see or hear you must make a wisdom saving throw. On a failure, they begin to dance joyously, and until the end of their next turn, may not use any actions, bonus actions, or reactions to make any attacks and their movement speed is reduce to 0. Any creature that is immune to being charmed is unaffected by this feature.

Invoke Allure As an action, you present your holy symbol, creating an aura of beauty and grace around yourself. For the next minute, you make charisma(persuasion) and charisma(performance) checks at advantage. If the creature you are communicating with has been harmed by you or your companions, this feature has no effect.

Passionate Fury

Starting at 3rd level, your Divine Smite feature and the Improved Divine Smite feature both deal fire damage, rather than radiant damage.

Aura of Lustful Vigor

Beginning at 7th level, you and every friendly creature within 10 feet of you may add additional fire damage equal to your Charisma modifier (Minimum +1) to the damage of weapon and unarmed attacks. Beginning at 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Hedonist Champion

Beginning at 15th level, you become immune to the poisoned condition and poison damage.

Aspect of Debauchery

At 20th Level, as an action, you may break the shackles of civilization and embrace your sinful desire, allowing a miasma of lustful and alluring stench to radiate from yourself. For the next minute, you gain the following effects

  • You and friendly creatures within 30 feet of you are under the effects of the bless spell
  • For every friendly creature within 30 feet of you, you regain 1 hit point at the beginning of your turns so long as you have at least 1 hit point. For example, if you have 4 friendly creatures within 30 feet of you at the start of your turn, you regain 4 hit points.
  • Critical hits and killing blows that you land cause you to regain 2d4 hit points.

Once this feature has been used it cannot be used again until the user has undergone a long rest.

gollark: A week.
gollark: #5 is... some sort of recursive sort, but with more indirection I guess?
gollark: What is it DOING? Why does it turn off the GC? Does the blattidus/2.0 codebase look like this?!
gollark: ... is #9 passing *pointers* over the sockets?
gollark: Besides, you can do that much more nicely with... well, I actually don't know if the sqlite3 python thing provides anything like `CARRAY`, but if it did then that.
