Ninja (5e Subclass)

The Ninja

The ninja is a rogue subclass. It focuses on achieving clarity in the field of combat through focus and exact movements.

The purpose of a ninja is to infiltrate and kill people without being noticed.

To the world at large, the ninja do not exist. The tales of figures clad in dark clothing flying through the night are now the stuff of legend, and even then, the learned viewed such statements as little more than idiotic superstition, but the truth is more intriguing: the ninja still exist today, and they exist in you. Drawing upon the elements of nature, the ninja focus their skills into moments of supreme focus and clarity, aiding them both in and out of combat with quick maneuvers, deadly attacks, and preternatural celerity.
How did the ninja learn these skills? And how they draw upon these abilities? Does it come from achieving narrow focus through long periods of intense martial training, or do they access the reservoir of the stealth training you undertook. Whatever the method, the results attest to your achievement of skill and enlightened understanding.

The Earth Moves Beneath Me

Beginning at 3rd Level, you travel faster of open ground and avoid obstacles. You are not impeded by magical or non-magical difficult terrain, and your walking speed increases by 10 feet. This increases when you reach higher levels, 15 feet at 6th level, 20 feet at 9th level, 25 feet at 13th level, and 30 feet at 17th level.

The Shadows Surround Me

Beginning at 6th level, you can use your action to hide in the shadows. This grants you invisibility as long as you do not attack any creature. You can use your cunning action to teleport to an unoccupied space, that you can see, within 60 feet. Both your current location and the destination must be in dim light, darkness, or are at least lightly obscured. You must wait 1 minute (10 rounds) before using this ability again. This decreases to 1/2 minute (5 rounds) at 9th level, 1/4 minute (2 rounds) at 13th level, and at 17th level you can do this without a time limit and double the distance. In addition, any hit you score against a creature that is surprised is a critical hit if you are in a dark or dim light area.

The Fire Burns In My Heart

The fire in your heart burns to win. Beginning at 9th level, you can make extra opportunity attacks without using your reaction. When you use this feature, you gain a number of extra opportunity attacks per round equal half to your Dexterity modifier, rounded up (minimum of 1). You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Dexterity modifier (a minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
In addition, you can deal an extra 1d6 to your Sneak Attack damage on your opportunity attacks.

The Death Flows Around Me

At 13th level, as an action you have the ability to make such an incredible number of strikes in such a beautiful manner at such incredible speed that you truly have mastered the dance of death. You may use your action to make one attack against each enemy within 5 feet of you, with separate attack rolls for each target, each strike alternating between first your main hand and second your offhand and third your main hand and so forth. You may use this a number of times equal to your Proficiency bonus, you regain all uses at the end of a long rest or one of the uses after a short rest. At 13th Level you gain Extra Attack(1) (effectively giving you 3 attacks, then at 20th level you get Extra Attack(1) for your off-hand weapon effectively giving you 4 attacks). In addition, you gain expertise with Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks.

The Void Shrouds Me

Beginning at 17th level, you can fade from sight and your enemies fail to restrain you. As a reaction to a melee attack against you, you become invisible until the end of your next turn or until you attack or cast a spell. Your speed also can't be reduced to 0 by nonmagical means and can spend half of your movement speed to release yourself from grappled or restrained condition.

gollark: Works for me.
gollark: The OC docs page is being very unhelpful. Maybe there's a range limit.
gollark: Yes, I'm on the Discord server.
gollark: I also go for the common thing of having giant battery buffers but also overengineering power generation enough that they never actually get used.
