Nightwings

"All right. But please stop trying to scare me. You are not as terrifying as you think you are."
—Moonwatcher to Winter

Physical Description

Totally epic nightwing

Nightwings are generally black in color of scale, they have black, forked tongues, and tend to fly in the dead of night. Their wings are pretty interesting, though. They're black on the top with a night sky-like pattern on the bottom of the wings to make it look like the night sky while in flight.

History

Nightwings were told to be able to read minds and see the future, though for the last few centuries, no nightwing was able to do either. But this is only because no nightwing was under the influence of the moonlight, the source of their abilities. So, for the last few centuries, the nightwings would make up prophecies that they would then fight to make them come true, or just manipulate some poor, weak-minded dragon ruler to do their bidding. When the Dragonets of Destiny came in and broke up this false prophecy thing, the nightwings started to be born in the moonlight again, and thus regained their abilities.

Society

Nightwings are normally very secretive, mostly out to learn more things about stuff that doesn't make much sense to anyone else, but the drive for information was always there with these dragons, and are annoyingly pretentious. And just when they'd think to themselves that it was enough to know, they'd find something new to learn, or MAKE something new to learn. In extreme circumstances, when no one paid attention to them anymore, they'd get together and make up prophecies.

Nightwing Names

Nightwing dragonets are named in a myriad of ways, and some even change their names sometimes. They tend to name themselves based on their powers, their physical attributes, and even their distinct skills. Because of these naming schemes, nightwing names can be an infinite number of things, written with any letter in the alphabet.
