Diversity

The people of Darenfell are quite diverse, but they all have one thing in common. Whether they are from Athelar, Vulkan in Soaring Rock, or the Groundling Sanctuary in the Deadlands, they have seen the dangers of this world-- or at least part of them. The peoples of this world know just how dangerous it is, and as such, are not the most trusting people. They will not trust easily, and when they do, perhaps you should be worried.

... Or maybe not. Perhaps they are simply not scared of you.

Athelaran peoples

The people of Athelar are dangerous, jaded people. All of Western Athelar has learned at least the basics of combat, and if it comes down to it, they will fight to the last man, woman, and child.

Artur Selmy

Artur Selmy is lord of the West, and he guards the Martelen Forest, allowing no one in-- but more importantly, allowing nothing out. The Martelen, nicknamed the Howling Wood, is nicknamed that for a reason. When someone ventures in, they do not come out, and all that is heard is inhuman shrieks of pain.

Selmy was appointed by the previous Lord of Winter's Fist, Gregor Selon, who is now old and senile.

Jon Selon

Jon Selon is the current lord commander of Winters Fist and the Wolves of the West. He is also not technically a Selon, but a Barron, a small family of farmers and merchants. But after a certain incident in his youth, which left most of his village, and all of his family dead, he was adopted by Gregor Selon, who, after an encounter with a creature of darkness, was left mad.

Ben Selon

The Mad Dog of Winters Fist is the son of Jon Selon and is one of his own elite rangers. He is called the Mad Dog because the way he battles resembles that of a wild animal, and he has a short, hot temperament.

Occupation(s): First Ranger; Lord in Training

Gwenuvere Selon

Once Gwenuvere Mandrakha, the marriage of her and Jon was arranged from a young age. The two are nearly the same age, with only a year's difference between them. After the wedding in Winters Fist, her father, Uthèr Mandrakha, rushed back to the Dragons Maw, the fortress that the family is charged with guarding, to ensure that it still stood fast. When he got there, he and all his men were slaughtered, as well as the rest of the Mandrakha family. She is the sole Mandrakha left, and yet she is a Selon.
