Mute (3.5e Trait)
Mute
3e Summary::Unable to speak by any means
Prerequisite: Your race must normally be able, and willing, to speak.
Benefit: You know one language that doesn't involve speech. In addition, use of the feat Silent Spell does not adjust a spell's level. (This does not grant the feat.)
Drawback: For any reason, whether your tongue was cut out, or your character cannot comprehend languages, you cannot speak. Languages available to your character are limited to communication via Wild Empathy, to any form of sign language in the campaign setting, as well as written forms of standard languages. You can still speak actions (eg. "I move my rogue to the door and pick the lock), but you cannot say anything to players (or any other in-game use of speech)
Special: Incompatible with any other speech-oriented trait or flaw.
