Scribe

Scribes are men who write and read as a profession in a primitive and illiterate society. Monks are men who dedicate their whole lives to live in a brotherhood according to all the rules of their religion without questioning. They can do it because of faith, or because their parents didn't want them, or perhaps to flee from the insecurity of the outside world. As monks live to serve and some will serve as Scribes.

Making a Scribe

Monks are good entourage for the party. They carry items, care for others wounds, repair simple equipment. Monks serve as all around support, they can be scribes, messengers and even weak fighters.

Abilities:Focus on constitution and wisdom.

Races: Only Teoryran Human.

Alignment: The Religion of the Monk dictates their alignment but it doesn't matter much for monks. Good, neutral or evil Monks all act and think very similar. Monks only consider their religion good and all others evil which justified any good or evil behaviour.

Starting Gold: No possessions of any kind,(Teoryran humans do not use gold).

Starting Age: "Simple".

Class Features

Read and Write: Your character knows many languages and read and write them all. He doesn’t have a list of languages instead he makes a int check DC 15 every time he reads something. If he succeeds he remembers it or learns it. In addition, He can learn and forget any new language for the turn. If he encounters a new language he learns it in a turn but he forgets the previous bonus language.


Scribe: You can read and write at astonishing speed. And you have an astonishing talent for listen and spot while reading it down. You have a near perfect memory for what people say and do.

  • you can always make an intelligence check without direct cause to randomly just know fuzzy information.
  • +2 to all class skills.
  • you read and write one page or 200 words per turn.
  • everything you heard or seen is recorded.

Improved Scribe: Your memorization skill have improved and writing/reading speed have increased.

  • you can make a intelligence check to remember solid information.
  • you read or write 1D6 pages per turn.

Perfect Memorization: You know remember anything you have seen or heard with an intelligence check.

Crypticism:' You are an expert at reading what you can’t read and solve puzzles.

  • +4 to decipher against unknown languages and riddles.
  • if the Scribe lack an knowledge, make a decipher check DC +3 and the scribe will know through some obscure way.

Messanger: You also have a good sense of motives about what people would say in another situation or what they really mean before they say it.

  • +2 sense motive
  • You can read thoughts from what they begun to say.
  • +4 on all forgeries-

Librarian: You are skilled at finding and using books. You know of many books even if you haven’t read them and knows who writes them or knows who knows that you dont.

Campaign Information

This class only exist in Teoryran. Scribes makes good sidekicks or spies, because they are allowed to do things other classes aren't. A scribe is the only character is the entourage that can read or translate foreign, assuming you are heretical enough to even consider that barbarians could have a language.

Playing a Scribe

‘‘‘Religion:’’’ Your religion is your life, you live with your brothers and embrace all rules of the faiths unlike the masses without question or moderation. You obey the abbot in all ways, and a priest or lord whom they send you to. You can belong to any churches of any different religions or even heretical religions but not one in a billion will be any softer on you.

Other Classes: You serve a lord or Priest as their entourage,

Combat: Monks usually do not fight, but can fight with maces and staffs when they have to.

Advancement: Only other Monk classes. All Monk Classes share a common epic Monk.

Scribes in the World

Daily Life: You live to serve, you live with your brothers in a monastery or you live with lord or Priest in their mansions to serve them. Monks such as scribes are allocated to work for persons or send where they are needed for their brothers superiors better.

NPC Reactions: Monks are revered for their faith, and seen a meek and good. Some NPC may despite them for the same reasons.

Scribe Lore

Characters with ranks in Knowledge(religion) can research Monks to learn more about them. When a character makes a skill check, read or paraphrase the following, including information from lower DCs.
