Mist

Mist creatures are generally lonesome black smoke entities which tend to have a stable black humanoid figure. Mists have a conquest to find a civilization, as there are very few in existence, and are therefore in hope that one day they can live in their own societies rather than relying on hiding in the shadows of towns and cities that are crowded with cultural diversity.

Physical features

The mist is an Aberration. Although mists look untouchable and like a constant smoke, the black gas is dense enough to touch like a solid. They tend to have a small puff of extra smoke flailing off them and it moves with even the slightest breeze however it dissipates almost immediately once its traveled it's course through the body: leaving no trail of smoke or a cloud in the sky just a little effect on the body to show it's not fully completely solid. Faces are generally hard to make out but you can see the faint purple or yellow glow of eye sockets and a grim smile occasionally, because of this you rely mostly on their voice to present expressions as you may struggle to make out the eyebrows affecting the shape of the upper eye's curvature. Features are hard to make out as they are made of smoke but obvious differences such as body build, chest size (including women's breast size), hair length and height are the main features that can be distinguishable at first glance. Short hair more often than not looks similar compared to long hair: Long hair trails behind just faster than the smoke particles. On average, because they are humanoid, they tend to come in natural human sizes and grow up averagely like humans do: this also means that their body weight is generally what they consume so it isn't permanent.

History

Mist's have always been the outcast of society, sorta like the homeless but due to their ability to hide in shadows easily and form in to an abundance of smoke they can get out of trouble with ease. Because of this they are extremely chaotic as they can get away with most things, the past exerts this more so as they have a common living space in the material plane as this is where the most vunerable live and has made it easy to survive there over centuries: being the little nightmare that scares the kids in their beds...obviously by accident. There has been myth that 1 population of mists have formed but due to their greed collapsed in rage causing them to scatter to the edges of the different planes, most staying in the material plane.

Society

Mists look for a sign of their own kind rebuilding a stable population to thrive in rather than hiding in the side streets of a gnome town or human city. Social interactions are very mixed, most mists are unreliable and scandalous so they don't stay in small populations for long or relationships even with their own kind before becoming a menace. However when a bond is formed it is very strong and they will stay in the pair or group for life as they are afraid to lose them.

Mist names

Mists tend to have nicknames that are stereotyped by kids and adults alike to represent fear such as shadow monsters, smoke, "mists", boogie monsters, invisible man, etcetera, but in reality they have names of their own which are sacred to their kind.

Male names: Jalsophen, Hygopeth, Sunderton, Crumfet, Quapith.

Female names: Troligy, Norithy, Sijiry, Polagy, Conimy.
