Mirror Mage (5e Subclass)

Mirror Mage

Mirror mages are wizards who are known for impeccable aim. They are able to hit targets behind cover and even those they cannot see.

Spell Ricochet

At 2nd level, you learn how to encase your spells in a shell that allows them to ricochet around walls and cover. When you cast a spell that requires an attack roll, you may bounce it off a surface, such as a wall or tree, allowing it to ignore the target's cover. You may also target a creature you cannot see (e.g. if it's around a corner), making the attack roll at disadvantage. Additionally, you may use this feature to make a ranged spell attack against a target within melee range at no disadvantage. The total distance the spell travels must be within range. You may use this feature a number of times equal to your dexterity modifier (minimum of 1), regaining all uses at the end of a short or long rest.

Reflective Focus

Also at 2nd level, you may use a mirror as your arcane focus. Additionally, as an action, you may extend your senses to a reflective surface (such as a mirror or still water) you can see within 100 ft. Until the start of your next turn, you can see around the surface as though you were standing in its place, however you cannot hear through it, and you cannot see through your own eyes for the duration. If you move more than 100 ft. from the surface, the surface is broken, or you voluntarily end the effect early, your connection to the surface is broken and you are returned to your own vision.

Mirror Barrier

At 6th level, when you are targeted by a spell involving an attack roll or dexterity, you may use your reaction to reflect it at a creature within 30 ft., making an attack roll against that creature. You may use this feature once between long rests.

Mirror Step

At 10th level, you may use 5 ft. of movement to step into a reflective surface within 5 ft. of you and instantly appear within 5 ft. of another reflective surface within 500 ft. Both surfaces must be large enough for you to reasonably pass through. Each time you use this ability, your body and anything you are carrying are reversed (e.g. if you are right-handed, you become left-handed). You may use this ability once between long rests.

Through the Looking Glass

At 14th level, when you cast a spell that requires an attack roll, you may aim it into a reflective surface and out of another reflective surface within 100 ft., allowing you to target creatures that are far away or behind cover. The distance the spell travels must be within the spell's range, ignoring the distance between the two reflective surfaces. You may use this feature a number of times equal to your intelligence modifier, regaining all uses at the end of a short or long rest.

gollark: Lua doesn't ship with much beyond the bare minimum.
gollark: Wait, hmm, that probably iterates the lines, not counts them.
gollark: Try `local h = fs.open(file, "r") local m = h.readAll() if m:sub(-1)~="\n" then m=m.."\n" end h.close() return m:gmatch("(.-)\n")` instead?
gollark: He's not defining `s` anywhere.
gollark: Oh, no, pjals was just wrong.
