Meteor Dash

3e Summary::You walk with your god, whose power covers you like a protective cloak.

Class: Paladin

Level: 5th

Replaces: If you select this class feature, you do not gain a special mount at 5th level. In addition, you do not gain the Remove Disease class feature.

Benefit: Beginning at 5th level, if you move at least 10 feet on your turn, without turning more than 90 degrees, you may choose to emit a visible, meteor-like aura of light. You may decide what color this light is. This aura remains active until your next turn. While this aura is active, you gain a +4 sacred bonus to AC. In addition, evil creatures within 60 ft. and able to see you must make a Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 your Paladin level) or be paralyzed with fear for 2 rounds. You may use this ability once per day at 5th level, and gain an additional use every 5 levels.

gollark: The main issue with the self-assessed-value-based patent tax thing is that people who independently come up with an extremely good idea may not be able to secure enough funding to keep hold of it for a while. But I'm not sure how common that is.
gollark: Limit copyright to 10 years or so, with an extension if you give the copyright office the "source code" to release publicly when it's up.
gollark: So the idea is that *you* pick a value for your patent, and anyone who is willing to put up that much money can buy it off you.
gollark: One of them was to make it so you had to pay some % of your patent's value to keep it (probably an increasing-over-time amount). Now, you might say "hmm but how do you assess value", which is an entirely reasonable concern.
gollark: There are various interesting proposals for adjusting them.
