Mercenary

Fighter Mercenaries are specialists trained in ranged combat who use their skills to efficiently eliminate targets.

Successive shots

When you choose this subclass at 3rd level, If you succeed on a ranged attack made against a creature that was already below max health, you may make a second ranged attack against it. If you are wielding a weapon with the loading property, you may use a bonus action to reload between these two attacks. You score a critical hit on attack rolls from 19-20.

Improved critical

Starting at 7th level, you score a critical hit for ranged attacks on rolls from 18-20. Roll an extra damage die on critical.

Ranged skill

Starting at 10th level, when you hit a target with a ranged attack, you may use a bonus action to deal an additional 1d8 damage. Additionally, your proficiency bonus is doubled for any attack roll you make that uses a ranged weapon you're proficient with.

Headshots only

Starting at 15th level, when making a ranged attack, you may choose to have disadvantage to hit, but deal an additional 4d8 damage. You may use this a number of times equal to half your fighter level rounded down, regaining all usages whenever you take a short or long rest.

Suppressive ability

Starting at 18th level, any time you make a successful ranged attack against a creature of large or smaller size, it must succeed on a strength saving throw with a DC of 10 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity modifier or be pushed 10 feet and knocked prone.
