More information...

A bigger-than-usual monkey stand before you. In his hand, he holds a longsword, which is pointed at you. He lets loose an animalistic snarl and jumps at up. You hear his compatriots coming through the trees as you ready yourself against them.

Mankeys stand about 3 feet tall, and usually weigh between 30 and 35 pounds. Their whole body is covered in fur, and they often grow it quite far on their chins, putting colorful, and shiny, bands in it. Their tail is the same color as their fur, and it is about the same length as their body. They also have big, fuzzy ears. They usually wear simple, confortable clothes, and shiny stuff when they can. They reach adulthood at the age of 20, and live well into their second century. Mankeys speak Mankey and Common.

Most Mankeys encountered outside their home are warriors; the information in the statistics block is for one of 1st level.

Combat

Mankeys prefer to fight defensively, usually hiding and launching ranged attacks as the foe approaches. Their tactics are very much like those of elves but place more emphasis on cover and surprise and less on mobility.
