Malleus Maleficarum

A Hunter of the Malleus Maleficarum, a Christian organization dedicated to seeking and destroying what goes bump in the night which largely consisted of Catholics historically, but today includes Eastern Orthodox, Anglicans, and other high church Protestants.

(Disclaimer! Modeled loosely off of the new World of Darkness Hunter: the Vigil conspiracy and its endowments, this is for my home game and I reference a morality system which I'm not detailing in this article, is found in the World of Darkness core book.)

Requirements

Requirement 1: Base Attack Bonus: +2

Requirement 2: Skills: Knowledge (Theology/Philosophy) 6 ranks

Requirement 3: Allegiance: To the Malleus Maleficarum organization, or a high church tradition.

Class Information

Hit Die: d8

Action Points: 6+ one-half character level, rounded down, every time the Malleus attains a new level in this class.

The Malleus’s class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are: Concentration (Con), Craft (structural, visual arts, writing) (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Knowledge (behavioral sciences, earth and life sciences, theology and philosophy) (Int), Listen (Wis), Profession (Wis), Read/Write Language (none), Sense Motive, Speak Language (none), Spellcraft (Int), Treat Injury (Wis).

Skill Points at Each Level: 5 + Int modifier.

Benediction Rituals

The Malleus has access to certain rites and liturgical rituals that are made easier or harder depending on certain factors: -3 if Morality is 3 or less, -1 if Ritual involves no overt demonstrations of faith, +1 if ordained priest, nun, or monk, +1 if Morality is higher than 8, +2 if Ritual incorporates the Sacraments, +5 if Ritual is performed on appropriate Saints feast day.

Bonus Feat

At 3rd, 6th, and 9th level, the Malleus Maleficarum gets a bonus feat. The bonus feat must be selected from the following list, and the Gunslinger must meet all the prerequisites of the feat to select it.

gollark: Yes, that sounds hard. People can't even work out what they are.
gollark: If you can allegedly do this in x-con it can surely be done in general.
gollark: You can make a con which does *not* discriminate at all also have such protections against that.
gollark: If you are against discriminating based on traits people can't control, I don't think you should then discriminate against people based on traits they don't control.
