Lycanthrope

A very secretive race that is almost entirely extinct. Next to nobody knows about the existence of this race as it is more of a curse rather than a race itself.

Physical Description

Lycanthropes are very rare and are almost never seen because contrary to werewolves the inflicted creature can transform at will and generally does not transform against their will. When in their original form they appear as their original form perfectly, however, when transformed they appear as the stereotypical werewolf but typically with piercing golden eyes.

History

Lycanthropes are a race that was initially spread through a curse, that now also runs through bloodlines.

Society

Lycanthropes don't have their own organized society, however, it will all depend on their original race.

Lycanthrope Traits

Lycanthropes are humanoids with the features of a beast, making them both ferocious and fast.
Ability Score Increase. Your Strength and Constitution score each increases by 2.
Age. A Lycanthrope reaches maturity at the age of 18 or your original race (whichever is earlier) and can live up to 300 years of age or your original race (whichever is later).
Alignment. The Lycanthrope's temperament tends to vary, but they are usually chaotic due to their violent nature from Lycanthropic instincts.
Size. Lycanthropes are size medium, when transformed they become up to 8'. Their nontransformed size is the original race's size.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 40 feet.
Darkvision. Lycanthropes are creatures of the night. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Survivor. All Lycanthropes are master survivors due to their instincts. You gain expertise in Survival.
Feat. You gain one feat of your choice.
Transformation. You can transform between your Lycan and base forms at will, transforming takes an action, while in your Lycan form your unarmed attacks deal 1d8 + strength. And all melee attacks have an extra 5 feet of reach.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common, and one language of your choice.
