Lopunny (5e Race)
Lopunny
Physical Description
Source |
Graceful, beautiful, and rather short, these naturally timid bipedal lagomorphs look entirely like brown rabbits, but have long ears reaching their thighs mostly covered in soft, cream-colored fluff. The same fluff covers their feet and shins, making them appear to be wearing boots. Their wrists are also adorned with this same fluffy material. Two long segments of fluff are perched above the eyes, resembling eyebrows.
Some Lopunnies, although quite rare, have been known to have pinkish fluff and a lighter brown coat of fur.
History
Lopunnies, along with their Buneary young, originated from the forests of the Sinnoh region, although they can be found almost anywhere. During certain times of the year, in northern Kanto, swarms of them appear. Because of their cute charm, Bunearies and Lopunnies alike are favorites among Pokemon Coordinators and, in the Hoenn region, among participants in Pokemon Contests Spectaculars.
Society
Lopunnies usually live in a colony, caring for their young which are known as Bunearies. They can even carry their young in their ear fluff. Extremely cautious by nature, they tend to flee at the first sign of danger. Although they dislike fighting, when forced to defend themselves they deliver powerful kicks.
As mentioned before, Lopunnies and Bunearies who have adapted to human society most often participate as contestants in Pokemon Contests with the help of a Coordinator. Lopunnies shed their fur twice a year, which can be somewhat troublesome especially to people will allergies. Their shed fur, however, is often collected and used in the production of mufflers and winter hats.
Lopunny Names
Despite appearing feminine, Lopunnies can be either male or female (despite rumors to the contrary), and can thus have male and female names. Their names are usually Common or Elvish.
