Legendary Moonlight Sculptor (3.5e Class)
Legendary Moonlight Sculptor
"Have you heard? There are rumors about these people called Moonlight Sculptors. They seem capable of sculpting amazing statues under moonlight and granting those who look upon them amazing powers. But that's not all they can do. While they are artists, I've never seen someone as powerful as the one I saw. As if working on a sculpture he carved his way through the flesh of a dozen foes, his blade lit up as if the very moon itself. They say that the one to carry the title Legendary is even capable of granting life. Can you believe it? It's like he's a living god!"
Making a Legendary Moonlight Sculptor
A Legendary Moonlight Sculptor is ideal at fighting on the front lines and creating minions to serve him at higher levels (at the cost of XP). While not a huge tank class, these Sculptors gain enough benefits to hold their own on the battle field. They use a unique mechanic called Mana that is the limit to their spellcasts. Mana resets per rest, or through meditation.
These artists, while strong fighters, are more about making their sculptures to buff themselves and their allies while also slowly amassing a strong army of loyal servants and creatures. All sculptures made by the Legendary Moonlight Sculptor are considered intelligent, even if normally not. They can all communicate with the Sculptor at vast distances, allowing for their creator to send them off to do their own thing if need be. However, do note that when granting life to a sculpture any bonuses it usually gave are now gone, replaced by its ability to move around and fight. The starting level of the monster is usually the amount of the XP spent to create the statue unless stated otherwise. While the bonus stats given by the statue are removed upon granting life, the material the statue was initially made of is carried over. They are, however, now also made of flesh and not stone.
Abilities: As the class is based off using art, intelligence and wisdom are ideal stats to focus on. Dexterity is useful as well.
Races: The most likely race to be a Legendary Moonlight Sculptor is human. However, any race that enjoys art can become one.
Alignment: Any alignment that appreciates art.
Starting Gold: 75 gold pieces (artists aren't rich at first!).
Starting Age: Moderate
Unique Resource; Mana: Can be recovered through rest outside of combat, or in combat through a full round of meditation at 1/4th the total Mana spent regained. Gain +100 total mana based on one's wisdom modifier. So a +4 bonus would mean +400 total mana.

Class Features
All of the following are class features of the Legendary Moonlight Sculptor.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Legendary Moonlight Sculptors are proficient with all weapons, although they typically prefer to use their crafting knife for combat and sculpting. While they tend to wear light armor, they can wear all armor. However, wearing medium or heavier armor loses the wisdom bonus to AC granted by the class until the weight is lowered.
Art Stat: For each sculpture made, the artist gains art points based on the quality of the sculpture. This is used for combat when a statue is destroyed, or for knowledge checks (art) at 1/20th the total amount. When a statue is destroyed you lose all art gained from the statue.
Fame Stat: Fame is used to determine how NPCs will recognize you. Take the total stat at 1/20th and add that bonus to your diplomacy roll. When a statue is destroyed you lose all fame gained from the statue.
Destruction Gain: When a sculpture is destroyed by the Sculptor he or she gains increased stats and bonus effects for the duration of an encounter. This can also be gained on statues granted life by the Sculptor. This is best used when the Sculptor requires not the passive stats of his sculpture, but rather pure strength and dexterity to conquer the foe before him. Note that these bonuses only last for the rest of the day. The amount gained is based on the level of sculpture destroyed. The bonuses can stack, but only with a higher level sculpture. That means only one average buff can be on at a time, one fine buff, etc.

Imperial Formless Sword Technique: This passive is unlocked when the Legendary Moonlight Sculptor first picks up his crafting blade. This contains five movements, one breathing technique and one footstep technique.
Breathing Technique: He gains initial +300 Mana, +15 movement speed, and allows adding his crafting skill (1/3) to his attack damage each time he attacks with any weapon.
Crafting Blade: The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor is never without his tools of trade. A strange gem constructed of water is embedded into his main hand. When activated the sculptor can form a dagger-sized blade or a long sword-sized blade of water as long as moisture is in the area. He can then use this to craft and sculpt with a +2 bonus. Damage is based off of the sculptor's current class level +3, but never varies making it a steady source of damage. Threat-range changes based on what weapon form it is in.
Quick-to-Act: The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor is quick on his feet and always is on the lookout for battle. He gains the given bonus to his Initiative when rolling for battle.
Triple: With splendor, you strike an enemy three times consecutively at -4 per attack as a full round action. As the skill improves, the number of strikes and damage increases. +1 The Moonlight Sculptor attacks four times consecutively at -3 per attack and with +1 damage per strike. +2 The Moonlight Sculptor attacks five times consecutively at -2 per attack and with +2 damage per strike. +3 The Moonlight Sculptor attacks six times consecutively at -1 per attack and with +3 damage per strike. +4 The Moonlight Sculptor attacks seven times consecutively at normal BAB and with +6 damage per strike. +5 The Moonlight Sculptor attacks eight times at +2 per attack and with +10 damage per strike. Only usable once per round. 300 Mana Consumption per use.
Backstab: You instantly move behind an enemy and strike his back. Only can move as far as max movement speed per round. Deals damage as a typical backstab. +1 The Moonlight Sculptor gains 1d6 (3d6) to his backstab. +2 The Moonlight Sculptor gains 2d6 (4d6) to his backstab. +3 The Moonlight Sculptor gains 3d6 (5d6) to his backstab. +4 The Moonlight Sculptor gains 4d6 (6d6) to his backstab. +5 The Moonlight Sculptor gains 5d6 (7d6) to his backstab. 400 Mana consumption. Standard Action.
Sword Break: You destroy an enemy’s weapon by using five times your attack power. Like a sunder attack, you attack the opponent's weapon but at five times your weapons attack power. Grants you the Improved Sunder feat upon pick up, even if you do not meet the requirements. At +1 the Sculptor may strike another weapon within 5 ft. at half the damage dealt to the first. 600 Mana consumption.
Moonlight Blade: The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor can now sculpt light. His blade, any he wields, glows a dark blue and can now carve the invisible and intangible. 50 Mana per round upkeep.
Sword Dance: The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor aims at an enemy’s vulnerable spot in a dance-like motion. You mark a spot for your allies to hit, granting +5 threat range against the target. This threat range bonus does not work with other threat range increases, and instead uses the higher bonus of the two. Usable once per 3 round. The mark lasts until the Scultpro's next turn, or one round, whichever comes first. At +1 the Sculptor instantly lands a strike when doing the initial attack with a chance to crit. 1000 Mana Consumption.
Sword Kaiser: You harmonize with your sword. Concentrate all of your Mana and explode into a single point and strike against a foe's touch AC. Mana is consumed to zero, and if the amount of mana is below 2000, your health will be reduced as well. Total damage is 1d8 x Every 200 Mana Consumed (10d8 damage at 2000 mana consumed) plus your weapon damage from the strike. For every 200 mana that would be consumed but are lacking, take 2d8 damage to your health. If this move drops you below 0, it fails to activate and, if it would drop you below -10, you die.
Seven Celestial Step: For a round you are able to take Seven dashes in any direction, ignore inertia. You may move up or down as far as your base movement speed x2. You may also attack while moving as long as you have a standard action remaining. This is an free action. 100 Mana consumption.
Wisdom AC Bonus: You gain your Wis Modifier to your AC. Only works when wearing light armor.
Moon Blessed: You gain +5 to craft checks, +5 BAB, +5 Damage, and +5 Wisdom while the moon is out.
Destroy Art: The anger involved in destroying a self-made sculpture is converted to strength for one day. Art stat will temporarily serve as a battle related stat. Warning: Fame will drop and the corresponding points will be deducted from Art stat.
Sculpting: You can now create entire sculptures using your crafting skill. You can only make one sculpture every three days. Making a high-tier sculpture also increases the time to make it. These are able to provide the bonus effects based on the type of sculpture made. Have your DM decide what bonuses are added to the sculpture. These bonuses last an entire day or until another sculpture's bonuses replace it. While near a sculpture, the bonus replenishes itself daily. Some examples of statue bonuses are: Cold Resistance (5) Fire Resistance (5) +1 to BAB +1 to AC. Sculptures will also be able to emit light. However, the shape and color of the light will depend on the material. As time passes, the value of the finished sculpture will increase depending on the signs of the years passed. You can handle light in everyday life. Light can be sprinkled as an attack, or it can be put on the body as a defense. It uses certain levels of Mana to prevent magic attacks rather than physical attacks. An affiliation to nature, it’s weaker than a wizard’s shield but it uses a lot less Mana. Can be used to light special places. Can light dark places. Note that sculptures such as wings can grant the Sculptor flight. It is up to the Sculptor's creativity to determine what their sculpture does, within limits of the DM's world.
Moonlight Sculpting: The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor finally lives up to his name. He can now create sculptures out of light at an increased DC of 10. These sculptures are unique as they are made purely out of light. Any passive bonuses granted by these sculptures are doubled, and the Sculptor can now create Moonlight Grand Pieces and above.
Light on Sword: Grants +2 chance to hit on strikes until end of round. 50 Mana Consumption. Free Action.
Light on Armor: Grants +2 AC against physical strikes and Spell Resistance (10) until the end of battle. 100 Mana Consumption. Free Action.
Grant Life: The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor can now grant life to his creations. The stone or marble of the statue turns into flesh. Depending on the size of the creation and quality, the XP cost increases. These creatures are loyal to their maker and act as if the alignment of similar creatures. However, they will obey any command given to them by their creator, although they may not approve of the commands. The initial stats of the creature are based on the racial stats of the living creature of the same type. The starting level of the creature depends on the quality of the job, although the rough levels are listed below in the chart.
Type of Sculpture | DC Added | XP | Time to Grant Life | Level Start of Sculpture (Roughly) |

Quest to Rule: The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor has a natural birth right to rule: He gains +5 on Diplomacy rolls. He now only loses 1/2th the average XP when granting life to a sculpture. Once learned, the Sculptor keeps this feat even if he goes down in level.
Right to Rule: The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor has a natural birth right to rule. He gains +15 on Diplomacy rolls. He now only loses 1/4th the average XP when granting life to a sculpture. His Art Stat now grants him bonus AC equal to 1/20th the total stat. His Fame Stat now grants him bonus attack damage equal to 1/20th the total stat. People are more likely to come to his empire and serve him willingly. Once learned, the Sculptor keeps this feat even if he goes down in level.
Ex-Legendary Moonlight Sculptor
It is unlikely that one would quit this job unless they stop loving art. If so, they cannot access their class abilities that deal with crafting and their Mana pool is halved until they regain their love for art.
