Lazarus Crystal (3.5e Equipment)

Lazarus Crystal: This is an oval-shaped crystal, small enough to be hidden in one's hand. Its color is dull orange, but it glows in bright gold whenever someone touches it.

The Lazarus Crystals are items of great regenerative power. If held to a wounded/sick individual, the crystals would restore them to full health, instantly healing all of their wounds, diseases and negative conditions, even regenerating entire limbs. However, the crystals cannot regenerate damage that was inflicted by a recovery-blocking effect. Moreover, continuous contact with a Lazarus Crystal restores one's youth; for each minute (10 rounds) a Lazarus Crystal is held to an individual which is older than their physical prime, their physical age regresses in 1 year. The crystals do not have this effect on people that are still in their physical prime or are younger. If held to a corpse, the crystals bring the person back to life at full health, with no negative levels or ability drain/damage of any kind. This can be used to resurrect people that died of old age, through the healing effect curing them from all diseases, and the rejuvenating effect gradually restoring their youth. However, the crystals cannot restore souls back into the body, so, if a person's soul has already moved on, they are revived soulless (although, the soul can still be restored as long as it hasn't been destroyed).

Shattering a Lazarus Crystal has no effect on its capabilities - even a piece as small as a fingernail still retains the full capabilities of the crystal. Furthermore, each broken piece of a Lazarus Crystal can regenerate into a whole crystal. Lazarus Crystals are impervious to all non-magical damage, and, while attacked by magic, are treated as is they have hardness 20.
Moderate Conjuration; CL 18; Weight: 0.2 lb.

Side Note: Soullessness

Soulless individuals have severely lessened sense of morality, if at all. They lack conscience, the instinctual ability to differentiate between right and wrong, and often have hard times to sympathize. Soulless individuals often feel emptiness or general indifference, and their positive emotions are quite dim in compare to those of souled individuals; few soulless individuals can feel true joy, love or satisfaction.

Soullessness affects different individuals in different ways. Contrary to many religious believes, soullessness doesn't automatically mean the individual is evil; rather, due to the lack of conscience, soulless individuals are more likely to perform morally questioned actions, as they can no longer instinctually discern these actions are morally questioned. Morality aside however, becoming soulless rarely have a severe impact on an individual's personality and mannerisms.

Due to the lack of soul, soulless individual cannot return after death as Ghosts, Revenants, or Specters. They can however be the target of a Speak with Dead spell.
