This page is of questionable balance. Reason: The first benefit alone grants +8 in skill bonuses (the armor caveat is hardly mitigation, presuming such armor would be worn for the majority of adventuring time).

You can help D&D Wiki by better balancing the mechanics of this page. When the mechanics have been changed so that this template is no longer applicable please remove this template. If you do not understand balance please leave comments on this page's talk page before making any edits.

Knight in Shining Armor [Archetype]

3e Summary::You are the rescuer of damsels in distress, the emancipator of maidens locked in high towers. You ride proudly upon your mount, displaying your righteous do-gooder ways to the population...and they love you for it!
Prerequisite: Lawful Good alignment, Charisma 13+, proficiency with heavy armor.
Benefit: See below
Special: If you ever stop qualifying for this feat, you can trade it for another archetype feat that you meet the prerequisites of.

Archetype Feat Bonuses are based on HD.

  • 1 HD: Whilst wearing full plate armor, you gain a +1 circumstance bonus to all Charisma-related checks.
  • 3 HD: Once per day you can fascinate creatures with your devilish good looks as if you were a bard with levels equal to your Hit Dice. You act as if you had ranks in one Perform skill equal to half your hit dice rounded down.
  • 8 HD: For the purposes of determining the strength of your cohort granted by the Leadership feat you gain a +2 to your leadership score.
  • 15 HD: Any time you are targeted by a command spell or any similar Compulsion effect you may make an opposed Charisma check against the caster and have the effect turn upon the caster - who acts as if the spell was cast upon him or herself by themselves and must make the relevant Saving Throws to avoid being controlled by the very person they were attempting to control.
